Im'bunata is a beaver shaped elemental spirit located in Imbu in the Azure Span. It is the guardian spirit of the local river.

History

A long time ago, a group of tuskarr established their new home in the area that would later become Imbu. Kutiq’s fishing attracted the attention of Im'bunata, the guardian spirit of the local river. Observing the river's overpopulation of fish, Kutiq expressed his people's desire to maintain balance within its waters. Recognizing their intent, Im'bunata granted the tribe permission to settle, promising her protection in exchange for their stewardship. Thus, the tribe adopted the name Imbu, honoring Im'bunata. Ever since, the Imbu have maintained harmony by protecting her waters, receiving sustenance and protection in return.[1]

During the war against the Primalists, the Primalists came to Imbu with open hands and peaceful gifts. But it did not take the tuskarr long to see through them. There is great power within the waters of Imbu because of Im'bunata dwelling there. The Primalists sought to claim and use that power by whatever means necessary[2] so they attacked Imbu, taking the village from the tuskarr, forcing the survivors to flee, and imprisoning Im'bunata in a watery prison while they tried to bend the water spirits to their will.[3][4]

Imbu

Once the Primalist Summoners in the immediate vicinity are slain and Im'bunata is released, becoming hostile:

BEGONE, INTERLOPERS! MURDERERS!

After being defeated:

... Enough, I am myself again. I see you all were not at fault.
Take my blessing, champions. Shows these Primalists the fury of Imbu!

Once defeated, Im'bunata drops Im'bunata's Blessing which grants a temporary ability, Im'bunata's Rage.
