Ignion was a member of the black dragonflight present during Raszageth's assault on the Reach who was forced to withdraw from the battle due to his severe injuries. Instead of seeking out the healers, he ventured into Ikronia's prison and convinced her guards—Endemion and Sandesia—to take to the field as fresh reinforcements while he used what strength he had left to keep their prisoner secured.
In his final moments of consciousness, he attempted to convince Ikronia of the error of her ways and told her he believed she could still have a future among the black dragonflight, but would not have one at the side of her brother. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after.[1]
