  • Creates a ring of Shadow energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for (161% of Spell power) and dealing (144.2% of Spell power) Shadow damage to enemies. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.

    Generates 10 Insanity.

Tips and tactics

  • It can be very useful for instantly dispatching large numbers of low-health foes.

Patch changes

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5 (2023-07-11):
    • Now costs 4% of base mana (was 1%).
    • Fixed an issue causing Halo to sometimes appear twice in the Spell Book.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): [Divine Star] and Halo should now properly override the other on your Action Bar when swapping talents.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 (2023-03-21): Fixed an issue causing Halo healing to not be increased from [Shadow Covenant].
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.5 (2023-01-24):
    • Now generates 10 Insanity.
    • Resolved an issue causing the Shadow version of Halo to cost less mana than the Holy version.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 8 class talent (was a level 45 Discipline/Holy talent).
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): No longer available to Shadow priests.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.1.0 (2015-02-24): Now displays an indicator on the ground to make it easier for the casting Priest see where the ability is most effective. Additionally, Halo's visual effect has been synchronized so a character will receive the effect when the nova intersects with them.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Halo's Mana cost has been reduced by 67%, and now follows standard AoE capping rules.
    • Discipline and Holy: Halo now has a 1.5-second cast time (up from instant cast, see also: instant cast heals), heals for 50% less, and no longer damages enemies.
    • Shadow: Halo no longer heals allies.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Healing is no longer affecting by diminishing returns when used on multiple targets.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2.0 (2013-03-05): Will no longer hit enemies that are in Stealth.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.1.0 (2012-11-27): The responsiveness of Halo has been improved.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Added.
