Gunny is a dwarf quest giver in both the Blood Furnace and the Shattered Halls, where he is wounded and cursed and ultimately succumbs to his wounds despite efforts to save his life.
He originally appeared at Honor Hold in Hellfire Peninsula.

- Like Sergeant Hartsman, Sergeant Ermey, Sergeant Hartman and Lieutenant Emry, he appears to be a reference to Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, the sadistic drill instructor played by R. Lee Ermey in the film Full Metal Jacket.
