Roll the Bones is an Outlaw rogue ability.

Notes

When activated, one of these combat enhancements will be selected at random, with a low chance of gaining two buffs. Combat enhancements include:

  • Ability rogue rollthebones07.png Broadsides - Your combo-point generating abilities generate 1 additional combo point and deal 15% increased damage for the duration of Roll the Bones.
  • Ability rogue rollthebones05.png Buried Treasure - Your base Energy regeneration is increased by 5 per sec for the duration of Roll the Bones.
  • Ability rogue rollthebones02.png Grand Melee - Damage increased by 5%. Blade Flurry deals 10% additional damage to nearby enemies.
  • Ability rogue rollthebones03.png Ruthless Precision - Increases the critical ctrike chance of [Between the Eyes] by 60% and the critical strike chance of all other abilities by 15% for the duration of Roll the Bones.
  • Ability rogue rollthebones01.png Skull and Crossbones - Causes [Sinister Strike] to have an additional 25% chance of striking an additional time for the duration of Roll the Bones.
  • Ability rogue rollthebones04.png True Bearing - Finishing moves reduce the remaining cooldown of many of your abilities by an additional 0.5 sec per combo point.

Patch changes

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.2.0 (2023-11-07):
    • Now a level 19 baseline ability for Outlaw (was a row 2 Outlaw talent).
    • Refreshed duration of [Roll the Bones] combat enhancements now matches other enhancements.
    • Grand Melee now increases damage dealt correctly.
    • Grand Melee has been adjusted – Now increases damage by 5%, and Blade Flurry deals 10% additional to nearby targets.
    Previous Grand Melee effect: Blade Flurry deals 10% additional damage to nearby enemies, including your primary target.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5 (2023-07-11): Grand Melee has been redesigned – [Blade Flurry] deals 10% additional damage to nearby enemies, including your primary target.
    Old: Finishing moves grant 2 sec. of Slice and Dice per combo point spent. Increases your Leech by 15% for the duration of Roll the Bones.
  • Dragonflight Hotfix (2022-11-04): Fixed an issue that caused Skull and Crossbones to provide a bonus much lower than intended.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 5 Outlaw talent (was a level 29 Outlaw ability).
  • Shadowlands Hotfix (2022-07-05): Fixed an issue that prevented True Bearing from granting an additional 0.5 second cooldown reduction to [Feint] and [Evasion] when modified by [Float Like a Butterfly] when spending combo points.
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13):
    • No longer consumes combo points, has a 45 second cooldown and a 30 second duration. Additionally, Roll the Bones is no longer replaced by [Slice and Dice].
    • Grand Melee no longer increases attack speed and now grants 2 seconds of Slice and Dice per combo point spent.
    • Now learned at level 29 (was 40).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17):
    • Buried Treasure now increases Energy regeneration by 4 per second (was 30%).
    • Jolly Roger renamed to Skull and Crossbones. Now affects [Sinister Strike] instead of [Saber Slash].
    • Shark-Infested Waters renamed to Ruthless Precision. Now increases the critical strike chance of [Between the Eyes] by 60% and all other abilities by 20% (was a flat 25% critical strike chance bonus).
  • Legion Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13):
    • Broadsides now also increases the damage of your combo-point generating abilities by 20%.
    • Buried Treasure increases Energy regeneration by 30% (was 25%).
    • Grand Melee now increases attack speed by 55% (was 50%).
    • True Bearing causes Finishing moves to reduce the cooldown of many abilities by 1.0 seconds (was 2.0 seconds) per combo point.
    Developers' notes: The distribution of the number of buffs you get from Roll the Bones has changed. On average, you will get fewer buffs. Our goal is to significantly reduce the desire to frequently recast Roll the Bones when you get 1 buff.
  • Legion Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): True Bearing no longer reduces the cooldown of [Blind], [Cloak of Shadows], or [Riposte].
  • Legion Hotfix (2016-08-08):
    • Jolly Roger causes Saber Slash to have an additional 25% chance of striking an additional time (was 40%).
    • Buried Treasure increases your base Energy regeneration by 25% (was 40%).
    • Shark Infested Waters increases Critical Strike Chance by 25% (was 40%).
    • Grand Melee increases your attack speed by 50% and your Leech by 25% (was 40% and 20%).
  • Legion Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Now learned at level 40 (was 36).
