Forum:My .css seems to have quit working
Up until about twenty minutes ago (as of 9:16pm PDT), my custom .css was functioning fine. However, it suddenly stopped replacing the pitch black background of the editing box with a lighter version. So now I'm back to having to deal with the appearance of a DOS window unless I toggle the website skin button to make everything light. =(
Anyone know what's wrong? --Alayea (talk) 04:23, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- Uhhh unless you're importing that in another file, that should never have worked. Hydradark isn't a valid skin here. --Pcj (talk) 04:35, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- It's the only thing I can think of to explain why the white background for the edit box suddenly turned black last night. I have found an option under Preferences > Gadgets for a "Dark editing box" which, ironically, is way less dark than the apparent default but it's still less friendly on my eyes. :| --Alayea (talk) 19:31, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
So I tried copying the code to a new page as provided under Preferences, and it worked in restoring the white background for the editing box. However, I can no longer see the blinking cursor. (Most likely it was turned to white too, because I can see it on the highlighted line while editing my new .css page.)
I don't understand .css, so would someone who does please help? xD --Alayea (talk) 21:04, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- Is the "Dark editing box" enabled by chance or even the option below it ("An improved Dark editing box (Beta)")? Else the editing box using darker colors shouldn't be the default - these gadgets provide that experience whereas without them, they should be light themed all around. — Surafbrov T / C 21:48, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
