Notes
- Feedback's damage cannot proc [Blackout], nor will it add [Shadow Weaving] stacks.
- The mana drain effect can be reduced by resilience. Additionally, the damage taken can be further reduced by shadow resistance.
Tips and tactics
- Although Feedback is a highly situational spell (both due to the duration and cooldown), it can be extremely useful in some situations. For example, a mage's [Pyroblast] can be successfully countered by quickly casting [Power Word: Shield] and Feedback.
- This spell appears to proc on every tick of a channeled spell. Because of this, using it when attacked by channeled spells is a very fast and mana efficient way to hurt an enemy caster's mana, channel time, and health.
Notes and trivia
- In Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Feedback was an ability used by human arcane towers and blood elf Spellbreakers with similar effects on mana using units.
- Prior to patch 1.10.0, this was a temporary weapon buff that gave weapon swings a chance to drain mana and deal an equal amount of shadow damage per mana drained.
Patch changes
- Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Removed.
- Patch 1.10.0 (2006-03-28): Redesigned. The priest surrounds himself with anti-magic energy. Any successful spell cast against the priest will burn mana from the attacker and cause Shadow damage.
- Patch 1.5.0 (2005-06-07): Casting a higher rank of the spell will now replace an existing, lower level effect.
- Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07): Added.
