Tips and tactics
While Divine Plea is active all healing done by the paladin is reduced by 50%, meaning it is best used during a period of low incoming damage. In PvE, this can be done by anticipating incoming damage and boss attacks, and using moments of downtime such as during transition phases to minimize the significance of the healing reduction. If something changes, it can be cancelled by right clicking it off, or with the command /cancelaura (such as with a macro).
Should you desperately need the mana return during a period of high incoming damage you can negate a fifth of the healing reduction by using [Avenging Wrath] in conjunction with Divine Plea. However, using them simultaneously is generally not recommended, as doing so will reduce the overall healing benefit gained from Avenging Wrath by 22.5%. Using them separately maximizes the paladin's healing output, which should ultimately also benefit his mana efficiency.
As a magic effect, Divine Plea can be dispelled. In PvP, paladins should be aware that their opponents may try to dispel it, while those facing Holy paladins should generally dispel the buff as quickly as possible, in order to deprive the paladin of the chance to regenerate their mana. This is usually less important against Retribution and Protection paladins, for whom mana regeneration is not such an issue.
