Cyphers of the First Ones takes place near the end of the "Forming an Understanding" chapter of the Zereth Mortis campaign and unlocks access to several of Zereth Mortis' central gameplay systems: Pocopoc, the Cypher of the First Ones system, Zereth Mortis' world quests and daily quests, and the weekly quest [60W] Patterns Within Patterns.

Notes
On accept, the Mysterious Automa runs back to the Cypher Console.
- Firim says: You have been chosen, mortal. Look, it wants to show you something at that console!
Use the Console to research Metrial Understanding. This triggers a short cutscene:
- The Mysterious Automa jumps up on a nearby device and starts spinning in place before bursting into a "ta-da" pose, creating the letters
in the air. The name spins around and turns into legible letters: Pocopoc.
The player then unlocks the Summon Pocopoc ability, allowing them to summon the little creature at will. On completion:
- Firim says: Pocopoc... quite a name, little one. With it as your companion, the secrets of Zereth Mortis shall unfold before you. You are truly blessed, Maw Walker.
