Crystal Vials are a crafting reagent used in a very large number of alchemy recipes—primarily potions, elixirs, and flasks. They're also used by enchanters to create  [Lesser Mana Oil] and  [Wizard Oil].

This item can be purchased from trade goods vendors, alchemy suppliers, and others. It can also be contained in  [Alchemist's Cache] and can be rarely fished up in Dalaran.

Any existing  [Empty Vial]s that were in players' bags before patch 4.0.3a were turned into Crystal Vials.

Patch changes

• Patch 10.0.2 (2022-11-15): Stacks to 1000, up from 200.
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Stacks to 200, up from 20.
  
• Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Alchemy recipes now require Crystal Vials. Deathwing broke all the others because he's mean (or because he didn't want alchemists to carry 5 different vials around with them).
