- Cold Weather Flying
- Passive
- Allows you to ride flying mounts in Northrend.
Cold Weather Flying is a passive ability that allows player characters to use flying mounts (or [Flight Form]/
[Swift Flight Form]) in Northrend. At level 68 or higher, it can be learned from any flying trainer for 50
. Alternatively, it's learned automatically for free at level 80.
Cold Weather Flying is permanent; a character does not need to re-train it if they learn additional riding skills (e.g. Artisan Riding) after Cold Weather Flying.

Trivia
- During the Wrath of the Lich King beta, Cold Weather Flying was taught by the quest
[20-30] Reconnaissance Flight instead of being purchased.[1]
- The
[Tome of Cold Weather Flight], which could be bought for 1,000
at level 80, was used to teach an alternate character Cold Weather Flying at level 68. This was removed in patch 4.0.1, when the level requirement to learn Cold Weather Flying from a trainer was itself reduced to 68.
