Coins of Air is a rogue-only pick-pocketing currency used to gain items and money from Griftah in the Hall of Shadows.

Sources

This currency is gained by having  [Lamp of Al'Abas],  [Shining Lamp of Al'Abas] and/or  [Gleaming Lamp of Al'Abas] in your inventory. Pick-pocketed items from mobs on the Broken Isles are automatically turned into Coins of Air.

Marin Noggenfogger as a champion is able to bring pick-pocketed items back from order hall missions, due to his Sticky Fingers ability, affected by which lamp is in your inventory.

•  [Gleaming Lamp of Al'Abas] - Loots 1-4 items

Having all three lamps in your inventory no longer works, and pick-pocketing a mob will not reward Coins of Air.

Having the lamps in your bank will not work.

Trivia

• Even though the flavor text says the coins disappear after a while, they do not.
• Having all three lamps in your inventory used to reward 3-10 pick pocket items at once, making it theoretically possible to loot up to 200,000 coins from a single mob ( [Verbellin Tourbillon Chronometer] x10). This was changed in a hotfix.
• Marin Noggenfogger used to be able to bring back up to 10 items from missions as well, though this was also changed in the same hotfix, and now the cap is 4 items (If carrying the  [Gleaming Lamp of Al'Abas]).

Patch changes

• Hotfix (2017-06-15): Carrying all three lamps in your inventory no longer rewards Coins of Air when pick-pocketing mobs.
