Barrowlets are kakapo perched on top of the stone structures surrounding burial mounds in the Eternal Kurgans in the Ohn'ahran Plains. They are very small and easily blend in with the color of the surrounding grass, which can make them difficult to see.

- The name is a pun on "barrow" and "owlet".
