Bane of Doom is a warlock bane that causes Shadow damage every 15 seconds over the duration of 1 minute. Each tick has a 20% chance of summoning an Ebon Imp.

Notes

  • Ebon Imps last for 15 seconds. Each successful proc of Bane of Doom will summon a fresh imp.
  • Unlike most DoTs, Bane of Doom is not affected by haste.
  • Bane of Doom is an epic Warlock spell in Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "My advice to you is to avoid Doom, if possible."

Patch changes

  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Redesigned as [Doom].
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26): Imps summoned by Bane of Doom now benefit from the warlock's stats.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Damage has been reduced by approximately 12%.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): [Curse of Doom] renamed Bane of Doom and redesigned: Banes the target with impending doom, causing 1948 Shadow damage every 15 sec. When Bane of Doom deals damage, it has a 20% chance to summon a Demon guardian. Only one target can have Bane of Doom at a time, only one Bane per Warlock can be active on any one target. Lasts for 1 min. Now learned at level 20 (was 60).
    Old: Curses the target with impending doom, causing 3200 Shadow damage after 1 min. If the target yields experience or honor when it dies from this damage, a Doomguard will be summoned. Cannot be cast on players.
  • Wrath of the Lich King Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Curse of Doom will only summon a Doomguard if the target yields experience or honor. The chance of summoning increased to 100%.
  • Burning Crusade Patch 2.0.3 (2007-01-09): Spell power benefit reduced to 200%.
  • Burning Crusade Patch 2.0.1 (2006-12-05): Spell power benefit increased to 400%, up from 100%.
  • World of Warcraft Patch 1.10.0 (2006-03-28): Can no longer be cast on players under control of a creature.
  • World of Warcraft Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07): Added.
