Avenger's Shield is a Protection paladin talent. It is a ranged attack that will jump to an additional nearby target, dazing them for a short duration.
Trivia
- Avenger's Shield is a reference to the famous shield wielded by the Marvel Comics superhero Captain America, who is a member of the Avengers.[2]
Patch changes
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now a specialization ability.
- Patch 3.3.3 (2010-03-23): Once again does not strike secondary targets affected by [Repentance].
- Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Base damage and scaling factor increased by 30%.
- Patch 3.0.3 (2008-11-04): Bounce distance has been reduced to 10 yards (from 15).
- Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Cast time reduced to .5 seconds, duration increased to 10 seconds.
- Patch 2.4.0 (2008-03-25):
- Casting lower ranks of this spell is now properly penalized like other healing and damage effects.
- This ability will no longer jump to secondary targets which are under the effect of crowd-control spells that break on taking damage. I.e. [Polymorph], [Sap], etc.
- Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22):
- No longer has a minimum range. It may be used on any target within 30 yards.
- The damage portion of this ability will now be applied even if the victim is immune to snare.
- Patch 2.0.10 (2007-03-06): The slowing affect from Avenger's Shield is now considered a snare, so snare removal and immunity affects will now work on it.
- Patch 2.0.1 (2006-12-05): Added.
