The Alterac Brew Pup is a hardy friend who’s always ready to lend a paw or revitalizing swig of "good cheer" to anyone in need. Bred for rescue duty, the Alterac brewhound's bloodline is famous for having found and resuscitated many mountain travelers trapped beneath the snow... and then slobbering all over them. The most famous brewhound of all is Bernard, credited with saving upwards of 50 lives—many of them dwarf and orc soldiers dragged out of the snow beneath the treacherous bridges of Alterac Valley.[1]

Notes and trivia
- Right-clicking on the pup produces a
[Mulled Alterac Brandy] into the player's bag.
- As of March 21, 2016, this functionality has been disabled in battlegrounds and PvP zones like Ashran (which includes Warspear and Stormshield).[2]
- The pup will also react to a /helpme emote.
- Until March 28, 2014, Blizzard donated 50% of all sales from this companion to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[1] Over $1 million dollars was raised.[3]
