Zan'do was an outcast troll witch doctor who was manipulated by Xal'atath into awakening Kith'ix prior to the Aqir and Troll War.
Biography
Zan'do was an ambitious witch doctor hailing from the Gurubashi tribe. His rivals had ousted him from a position of power, and he spent his days nursing dreams of revenge. He at some point came into possession of the dagger Xal'atath, which easily latched onto Zan'do's anger and twisted him into a pawn. Guided by the dagger's whispers, Zan'do and a handful of loyal witch doctors sought out a mound of black stone at the base of the Zandalar Mountains. Troll mystics had forbidden their people from disturbing the site, but Zan'do ignored the taboo in the belief that the mound held power he could use to defeat his rivals.
Zan'do and his followers soon discovered that the mound was actually the body of Kith'ix, a slumbering C'Thrax. Xal'atath urged Zan'do to make blood sacrifices to the creature. With his mind corrupted by the blade, the troll dismembered some of his companions with the dagger, used their blood and organs to awaken the creature, and finally buried Xal'atath in Kith'ix's hide, causing the creature to rumble to life.
Zan'do and his followers were never seen again. Trolls who later visited the site found only scattered bones picked clean of flesh.[1]

Xal'atath summoned a memory of Zan'do, along with memories of her other past wielders, during her attack on Telogrus Rift.[2]
