Warlord Kagni was a djaradin warlord who led a Zaqali warband into launching an all-out assault against Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible in search of their missing Elder, Rashok. He was also presumably the leader of the Zaqali tribe before the awakening of the Elders. Brutal and ruthless, Kagni was willing to employ any tactic to succeed. [1] He had a ferocious Lava Phoenix companion named Ignara.
Inside Aberrus, in the Defiant Ramparts, Kagni and his djaradin troops faced off against adventurers accompanying Sabellian and Wrathion into the laboratory, in order to ensure Neltharion's secrets didn't fall into the wrong hands.[2] As the battle began, Warlord Kagni called upon his Zaqali warband to assault the two protruding battlements. He himself moved around the battlefield periodically sending himself onto the opposing battlement with devastating leaps, slamming his hammer into the ground, and causing rubble to fall from the cave's ceiling, while his phoenix companion provided aerial support. Eventually, when it seemed clear that the djaradin would lose the battle, Warlord Kagni staged a final desperate assault on the door behind which the Elder was imprisoned, sending devastating shockwaves towards it. He also drained Ignara's life in an attempt to keep himself alive, causing his body to smolder with the phoenix's flame. In the end, however, he was killed by the champions before he could free the Elder.[3]
