Wikia
As you may know I'm currently in the Wikia offices in California, and there's some stuff I would love to discuss with you regarding it WoWWiki, Do you use Skype? If not, how might I best chat to you - email? Thanks, User:Kirkburn/Sig3 23:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm didn't know there were Wikia offices in California. I typically use AIM, but I have used Skype (I need to dig up my account info). We can start with e-mail, though. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:03 PM PDT 14 Aug 2007
Funky images (bis)
- Yep, I get that message too, and I can't see where the problem comes from. The original image couldn't be reduced in its character infobox and I decided to investigate why. Then I saw this error message, about a hundred times re-uploading the same one with the good extension, and still it didn't work, even after changing its name. I must be the MIME type. Can you put it right for me? You can find the image by reaching the NPC's page or by hitting the 'higher resolution' part of the images' pages. Thank you.--K ) (talk) 20:44, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- I fixed Image:Moren_Riverbend.jpg by downloading it, re-saving it as a JPEG, and uploading it over the old one. However, when I tried to re-save it, my program (Preview on a Mac) tried to re-save it as a BMP before I switched it. Most likely, you're starting from a BMP screen capture and you need to re-save the image as a JPEG in MS Paint or even better some other program (GIMP, Photoshop, etc.). I'll try to fix the ones I see that have the problem.--Fandyllic (talk · contr) 8:14 AM PDT 28 Sep 2007
Dismiss link overlap
To deal with the notice overlap, I think it needs a double div like used on the Main Page (with tweaks). Guess it needs doing for all such templates. Lang tbh, probably isn't really needed now - we can interwiki link the other wikia languages. Kirkburn talk contr 02:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Whatever you think is the best solution. I only saw a few instances where there was overlap. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:42 AM PDT 16 Oct 2007
{{3D Table}}
A note about the {{3D Table}} template -- the reason there wasn't a class= option (or id= or any other potentially useful HTML attribute) is that the way MediaWiki's table markup works, they can be put after the template. (This is part of why {{3D Table}} is so much simpler a template than {{3D Cell}}!) In other words, you can add a class to a 3D table in this manner as well:
{{3D Table}} class="myclass"
User:DarkRyder/Sig 20:43, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I didn't know that. Although it may seem elegant, it isn't terrible intuitive. It probably doesn't hurt to leave my change in. --Fandyllic (talk · contr) 1:47 PM PDT 25 Oct 2007
- My thoughts exactly. If it had occurred to me when I was first making the template, I probably would have added class= then. I only mentioned it here in case you were thinking of expanding the template further -- class= may well be the most useful thing to add to a table (after styles), but I wanted to make sure you knew that template parameters dodn't necessarily need to be added for other, possibly less universally useful, attributes. :-) User:DarkRyder/Sig 22:28, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Patch note links
Nice work :) Kirkburn talk contr 22:02, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. There used to be more official links to all the patches, so I'm trying to revive that and fill in whatever is missing. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2:04 PM PST 21 Nov 2007
<3 the threat
Anyway, my mind's flittish atm. I lost track. Thanks for reversing the sd; it reminded me to actually finish what I started. :) --Sky (talk | con | wh) 22:58, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- I see what you're doing now, but the order you do things is very important. And regardless of the outcome, you should never delete the content of an article when you mark it with {{sd}} or {{speedydelete}}. There is no need and it can be very annoying and confusing to people who run into these pages. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 3 PM PST 24 Nov 2007
Put any welcoming committee related stuff here...
I have returned. I will try to keep up with welcoming again :). Also, the "signedwelcome" template appears to be broken as seen at User_talk:Kaneka --purrdeta 19:55, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Misc Local Templates
Power over Poison quest chain/Alliance Summary et al... categorized under misc local templates... Could you tell me about your reason for adding it to the MLT category? And... in the future, could you put the category in noinclude tags? The page mentioned above did not use 'onlyinclude' tags, and thus you added perhaps more pages to the MLT category than you intended... --Eirik Ratcatcher 22:31, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I screwed up. I was doing batches of stuff. I'll fix it. Some stuff that only should have had {{transclude}} tag I may have copy pasted into the Category:Misc local templates by mistake. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 6:17 PM PST 27 Nov 2007
- As long as the transclude tag too gets into a NoInclude ... :) Is the Transclude tag used here in part to pull the page out of the "very small pages" category? --Eirik Ratcatcher 22:34, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Message on my Page
Hey, well it is sooo useful, but I think now I will start a little bit to give something back. Thanks for your greeting note on my page. :)

Sortable tables
I just updated your sortable instructions (at Help:Table) to use the "display:none" rather than transparency. (work better across all browsers I have checked.)
I do have a somewhat related question... I also added a short bit on darktable being preferred, and then found {{3D Table}}.
When is 3D table preferred to darktable? —MJBurrage • talk • 17:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Arena Set Names
Noticed this edit, thought I'd comment on the edit reason - all arena sets for the same spec share the set name (and count towards the same set bonus). Which items should appear in the item listing varies, of course, but there's nothing wrong with the set name/bonuses of any of the current Arena/Honor sets. -- Starlightblunder 02:10, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is not the set, but the set names in the bottom of the tooltips for the individual items of the set. Notice the set name for [Vengeful Gladiator's Leather Helm] points to Gladiator's Vestments rather than Vengeful Gladiator's Vestments, as it should be. This is true for many "Vengeful..." items. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 7:09 PM PST 4 Dec 2007
- The set name for all gladiator items begins with "Gladiator's" rather than "Vengeful Gladiator's" or "Merciless Gladiator's", there's only an inconsistency since the wiki has set pages for all three season sets, and those don't acually exist in the game. I'd suggest adding disambiguation to the Gladiator's set pages (or using the set disambiguation params in the item tooltips - but those are manual solutions, so someone will have to go through the items by hand if we want to link the set to anything other than the in game version). -- Starlightblunder 20:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm confused. If Vengeful Gladiator's sets don't exist, then what is Wowhead showing? Are you saying that the item tooltips in the game only list the old season 1 sets? If so, then probably the tooltip should probably changed to have a set disambig link or we just put the correct set in the items. Just because the actual tooltips are vague doesn't mean WoWWiki needs to be. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12:23 PM PST 8 Dec 2007
- Wowhead introduced those sets of their own volition; all of the other data-mining sites list the same version as in game (see screenshot :) ). -- Starlightblunder 18:45, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, my druid has the [Vengeful Gladiator's Wyrmhide Tunic] and I checked it, so now I see what you mean. I still think we should make the tooltips show the actual set like Wowhead, but I will probably just go through the Season one items and add disambigs to the top of each page. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:14 AM PST 9 Dec 2007
From Wired
- you rock man, i appreciate everything you do. you a watchdog or bookkeeper by any chance?
- --4:04, 10 december 2007 (EST) User:Wired/sig
- I do a little of everything. If I see stuff that looks good to add, I try to add it. If I see stuff to organize I try to organize it. It's sort of a WoWWiki type OCD. I've been particularly bad lately, since my guild is very small and sort of taking a break for the holidays. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5:26 PM PST 10 Dec 2007
- yeah im still trying to figure out how to do stuff, im horrible at html and these templates, im such a n00b it sucks. 11,december 2007 6:09 (EST) User:Wired/sig
- Yeah, SWM is great. He's the SandwichMAN! ;-) But you aren't such a noob, you figured out how to make a cool sig.
- I just figured out how to make the {{#time:...}} ParserFunction automatically timestamp my sigs, so we're always learning. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5:13 PM PST 11 Dec 2007
Badges of Justice
I would like to revert the edit you made to Badges of Justice. While I agree that normally such a page should be a redirect, the page [Badge of Justice] is often used with {{loot}}. If I were to do the same for the plural now, it will come up with a tooltip error. I would like your input before I undo. Hekirou 16:52, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Give me a chance to look at the links to Badges of Justice. If there are too many links to fix in a day or so, we'll revert my change. Otherwise, I'll just go through and fix them. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 8:59 AM PST 11 Dec 2007
- When {{loot}} is used correctly, it will properly display the tooltip. [Badge of Justice] [Badges of Justice]
- Looks like Badges of Justice has no links to it from non-user pages, so everything is fine. We do not maintain plurals just so people who don't know how to use {{loot}} correctly will get the tooltip they expect. What is reasonable to ask for is for Pcj to show a different error if the loot link points to a redirect. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:08 AM PST 11 Dec 2007
cost
Mind poking the cost template again? 1 23 45 --k_d3 22:52, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Umm... Kirky says I'm supposed to keep things under control whilst he's away for christmas. So, um... Bad Fandy, bad. Use a sandbox and test it before you edit major templates like that! Wrist spanked? I think so. Dominatrix DuTempete strikes again in an entirely flacid manner! --DuTempete talk|contr 23:32, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Awwwwwww, it's ok... the servers will forgive you in 2 or 3 days. *hug* Don't mind me, I'm a rather ineffective Dominatrix. How on earth am I supposed to get all controlly on things from the meek perspective of a semi-active narrow-interest editor who enjoys gossiping in IRC? Kirkburn just likes calling me that, I guess. --DuTempete talk|contr 02:08, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Ohhhh the dirty jokes I could respond to that with... but I think I'll stick with "(giggle) You said relationship! (K) <insert dog smiley> Kirkburn!" --DuTempete talk|contr 12:51, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
The question is : who exactly wished that relationship to happen that way? I can't think of a submissive Kirkburn.--K ) (talk) 12:47, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Now, I can't think of an "appropriate" way to respond to that, Kirochi, other than to say it's none of your business. --DuTempete talk|contr 13:32, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Not that you're being as discreet as possible :D Merry Christmas by the way.--K ) (talk) 18:05, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
