Help with loading Items

Could I ask if you could assist me in loading the details of the reward items and good boss drops from the Deadmines instance?

I am busy finishing my guide on it and would like to link to a Wiki-page of the item information instead of Thott or Allakhazam.
For details and links see Instance Guide:The Deadmines
--Dracomage 09:00, 18 May 2006 (EDT)

Sure. I'll build out a list here first of the items I'll make. If you see any that I miss, feel free to add them to the list. I'll also go over the items already created to see if they are complete. ClydeJr 09:32, 18 May 2006 (EDT)
Thank you! --Dracomage 10:12, 18 May 2006 (EDT)
Could you respond to my question on the Talk page of the guide? (Amazed at the speed with which you are adding items!)--Dracomage 14:48, 18 May 2006 (EDT)
Thank you for the effort! Much appreciated. I'll let you know when I start working on the next guide and need more items loaded. --Dracomage 09:49, 22 May 2006 (EDT)

< Removed old list> Clyde, could you add these last couple of quest items and 2 named bosses related to the Deadmines please? --Dracomage 07:14, 6 June 2006 (EDT)

Completed. I noticed that Foreman Thistlenettle had three green items that dropped only off him. I'm not sure if you want to include those in your guide or not. He's technically not inside the instance and he doesn't have a blue item that he drops. I went ahead and created those 3 items. - ClydeJr 10:30, 6 June 2006 (EDT)
Thank you Clyde! I updated the guide with the Foreman items. --Dracomage 11:09, 6 June 2006 (EDT)

Assistence request #2

Clyde, I am busy loading epic itms into the Wiki, and I ran into a quest and the quest items that are missing. Could you add them? I saw that you recently added a very long quest chain to the Wiki.

The quest end reward is  [Quel'Serrar]. I have links to the quest items but not the quests. Thank you once again. --Dracomage 09:11, 12 June 2006 (EDT)

Complete! Added 3 quests and 5 items. - ClydeJr 14:14, 12 June 2006 (EDT)
I am going to starting IOU some beers! Thank you --Dracomage 14:56, 12 June 2006 (EDT)

Item Sets

Untill I started looking at the armor sets indivually, I never realized how incomplete their data and links was. Sorry for creating a bunch of "blank" stub pages. It was more a move to get it on a "to do" list that anything else. I certainly did not intent to make it your responsibility. But thank you for working on filling in those blanks. --Dracomage 11:01, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

No big deal. I've been doing three things lately: Filling in Wanted Pages, Filling in Item Stubs, and filling in Cooking recipes and ingredients. I just happened to switch to filling item stubs and the first ones I grabbed were ones you created. - ClydeJr 11:56, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

Reverting Fuckyoumotherfuckers

Like I told Kirkburn, you might want to wait until Fuckyoumotherfuckers finishes his rampage before reverting. He may just revert your revert. --Tarog 12:38, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

I've banned him.

Let me know if anyone else comes along. AIM: AlexYoshi

--AlexanderYoshi 12:48, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

Happened upon your page and noticed the vandalism here - not sure how exactly to report it. -- Mordsith - (talk|contr) 04:04, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Guild stubs

Heya mate. You might just want to nix the guild page stub deletion votes and go with {{Stub/Guild}} for now. The new guild page policy should go live in a few days unless people start voting against it en masse. Any guild stub that remains a stub for 30 days is ok for speedy deletion without vote.

--Mikk 06:23, 16 June 2006 (EDT)

Sounds good. I remember seeing you mention something about the guild policy changing but I wasn't sure what the upcoming rules were. I'll check them out and start using them. - ClydeJr 07:26, 16 June 2006 (EDT)

Banisher

The article Banisher was deleted June 16 because it had never had any content. You created it anew some time after that. It was created a stub and was bound to not have any information in it. It appears that someone linked to it from several pages. Until it does, I don't want it to exist. I'd rather have a red link than a false blue one. Schmidt 00:53, 24 June 2006 (EDT)

No problem. I think what happened is I was filling in pages on the Wanted Page and Banisher showed up at the top of the list since it was linked to a bunch. It looked like it was a Player page so I threw the PC banner on it. - ClydeJr 13:42, 24 June 2006 (EDT)
Well see, that's troublesome to me. If it is a wanted page, someone does need to create it. However, if all you would add to it is a stub tag, it is better to leave it a dead link. Why? For the same reason I've deleted so many API pages. Just so that people don't see a false link. (I guess I stated that just now above, anyways.) False blue links irk me to no end. Schmidt 20:42, 24 June 2006 (EDT)

Thanks for reverting of vandalism

You and Kirkburn have been picking it up well. Hopefully this loser will find something else to do. --Fandyllic 2:49 PM PDT 25 Aug 2006

Thanks. It was a bit sad to see how quickly he could tear up the place. It would have been a lot better if he could have been banned a lot sooner. I'm not sure if there is some way to alert an admin that something like this is happening. Or even get some more admins to help with the monitoring. - ClydeJr 15:39, 25 August 2006 (EDT)
Yeah, we do need more admins so we can better round-the-clock checking. It's not helping that Schmidt has disappeared :P -- Kirkburn 15:47, 25 August 2006 (EDT)

BG Pages

Those BG pages should be expanded with specific information like forums, irc, etc, for those BGs, not just the table of servers as that is already listed imho. Example: Battlegroup_EU_Blackout --Gryphon 12:26, 7 November 2006 (EST)

OK, I was copying something what it looks like you did with Battlegroup US Reckoning. However now that I look at the history more, it looks like you were just putting something in there. I'll hold off on creating more. - ClydeJr 12:30, 7 November 2006 (EST)
No problem, I only did that for pages that already existed which had little or no information or were listed as a different name. --Gryphon 12:32, 7 November 2006 (EST)

Questbox

Have you considered using Template:Questbox for tooltips in quests? --Hobinheim 11:36, 13 December 2006 (EST)

I'm using Boilerplate:Quest for the overall quest template. Has there been any discussion about replacing the current quest tooltip box with yours? - ClydeJr 11:44, 13 December 2006 (EST)
I guess not. =/ But the reception's been good so far. --Hobinheim 12:05, 13 December 2006 (EST)
I try to create all my pages using the boilerplates. If people agree that yours is a better one than the current one, I'll happily go along with it. - ClydeJr 18:13, 13 December 2006 (EST)

Item pages

Hi, and thanks for the work you've been putting into Item Stubs!

I wanted to ask you if you felt it was really necessary to upload Allakhazam's item screenshots on the wiki. In my opinion, the pictures there are mostly awful and if we want a screenshot of the item, I would (personally) have a different one than the ones that can be found through the links given in the page.

Cheers :) Oh and by the way, watch the heading levels Smiley.gif --Adys (talk · contr) 19:37, 3 January 2007 (EST)

I guess I'm of the opinion that I'd rather have a bad screenshot than none at all. Was there any in particular that you didn't like? I have a copy of the wow model viewer program but I'm not sure if it works with the latest release. I'll have to check it out. I can use that to get better screenshots of items.
As for the heading levels, the incorrect ones come existing pages that I'm updating. I think an old version of the boilerplate used level 1 headings vs the current level 2 ones. I try to fix them when I catch them but I guess they're not the highest priority to me.
I have a a suggestion for you: when you modify one of the boilerplates, please include in the comment what you did. You recenting added the icon template to the item boilerplate. I updated three existing pages when you then had to come behind me to add in the icon template. Please put in the comment what you did. It makes it a lot easier for people who add in a lot of items and quests. - ClydeJr 00:19, 4 January 2007 (EST)

Help!

First time I tried adding BC loot. Having an issue with the Item Boilerplate where a socket bonus is a spell effect. Please see  [Scale Leggings of the Skirmisher]. Any ideas? --Dracomage 09:52, 1 February 2007 (EST)

It looks like you got it figured out. Let me know if you need more help. - ClydeJr 12:49, 1 February 2007 (EST)

KasoBot

If you don't object would it be ok to mirror our discussion on User_talk:Kaso over to the village pump, its a topic i'd love to get some more opinions on. --Kaso 09:41, 20 March 2007 (EDT)

Go ahead! - ClydeJr 11:05, 20 March 2007 (EDT)

How does Kasobot handle existing pages?

That was an over-ride done by me, the bot can handle certain IRC commands to over-write a page with a stub. I was just making stubbs for all the Kael weapons, because the orginal pages were not boilerplate, though i guess with the infinity blade it wasnt needed so much, it was closer to boilerplate than the others which were just the tooltip text copy pasted. --Kaso 15:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

In response to "What patches were armor released" thread on pump.

When was Tier 0 released? Also the official Alliance/Horde rare and epic 6-piece armor sets. I know that the rare one was removed and replaced with a new rare set. User:Colinstu/Sig 21:07, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

Looking at Allakhazam's item history for the Breastplate of Valor, it looks like it was added in November of 2004. If I'm not mistaken, that was when WoW was released in the US. However, I'm not sure of those dungeons with T0 (scholo, strat, lbrs, ubrs) were itemized right away.
As for the other items, I think you're talking about the PvP sets. I'm not sure when they were introduced, although the battlegrounds were introduced in patch 1.5 (June 2005). The PvP epic set was updated in patch 1.11 (June 2006). - ClydeJr - talk - contrib 11:17, 18 April 2007 (EDT)

Signature file

You might find it contributes less clutter to use a signature file. You might examine those of Tekkub, Sky, or even Colinstu (above). --Eirik Ratcatcher 00:48, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Template:Settableall/<item set>

Just wanted to point out that this is essentially outdated with the development of {{settip}}. See the talk page for documentation, and Malorne Regalia for useage. Thanks! --Sky (t · c · w) 18:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, didn't know that had changed. I'll have to incorporate these changes into the boilerplate page since that wasn't updated when tooltip was. Looks like the main set page has to get updated first up first. - User:ClydeJr/Sig 18:56, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Essentially, but you can cheat if you feel like it, by just incorporating the correct format <onlyinclude>{{settip|yadda yadda}}</onlyinclude>. :) --Sky (t · c · w) 18:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Basically copying the Malorne page. Just an FYI: Please make a note when you edit something that someone seems to be actively working on. You added in the "|Set" which I haven't seen before. I deleted the last one (I only noticed that one) thinking it was some crazy typo I made. Just spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out what was going on (why 2 bonuses were grey while the last was green) until I realized you edited it under my nose. - User:ClydeJr/Sig 19:49, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Lol. --Sky (t · c · w) 06:07, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

The Barrens Category

Why did you move all the "The Barrens" category pages back to "Zone:The Barrens"? They were purposefully moved to the new "The Barrens" category, and all other zone categories have or will in the near future undergo a similar migration. The same will happen for other categories of similar names, such as the "Quest:Zone" category. Unless you have a good reason and explain, please do not perform further reverts. Thank you. --Jiyambi t || c 20:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... didn't realize that we were getting rid of the Zone: style categories. Where was this discussed? I think I see a mention of it of at http://www.wowpedia.org/Wowpedia_talk:Village_pump#Auto-categorizing_subzones but its not really clear? Could you point this out to me? In the meantime, I can start moving stuff back. - User:ClydeJr/Sig 20:33, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'm not sure it was discussed in the village pump, but Sky and Mikaka and I have been discussing it on the irc channel for some time. I apologize for my somewhat snappy message before, apparently I was grumpy when I noticed the change. There aren't that many pages in the category, so it shouldn't be hard to change it back - I will do it eventually if you don't get around to it. However, if there is a specific reason you oppose the change, please let me know and we can discuss it. --Jiyambi t || c 05:04, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Naw, I don't have a problem with it. Its just when people start making big changes like that, its nice to see some written documentation/discussion about it for those of us who weren't part of the irc conversation. That way, we don't go bumbling around changing everything. I've already reverted all my changes so they should all now be pointing to Category:The Barrens. - User:ClydeJr/Sig 18:38, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
You make a very good point. When I have more time, I will make a note in the village pump. --Jiyambi t || c 18:41, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Professions

I've been updating the profession tables - biggest changes made to the blacksmithing tables. After starting on this, I've noticed that you have your own version of them. For example, Apprentice blacksmithing plans and Blacksmithing/RecipeTable/Apprentice. It doesn't make sense to me to have two versions of the same information, but I didn't want to continue making changes to this section if you were working on this as well. Do you have any plans for the blacksmithing page, or profession pages in general? -- Mordsith - (talk|contr) 01:19, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
