Rise of the Arakkoa

The Dismantling of Skettis

Near the time of Kiljaeden's banishment through the Sunwell, the combined forces of the Sha'tari Skyguard and the Skettis Exiles, led by Kirrik the Awakened and Sky Sergeant Doryn, began systematically dismantling the disarrayed city of Skettis. The followers of Terokk were given an opportunity to be absolved for their actions if they joined Kirrik and A'dal. Some refused and were simply imprisoned while a vast majority abandoned their dark rituals and took Kirrik's offer. The bothersome Terokkar Forest, which had been a thorn in Shattrath's side for too long, was now free of taint and finally in the hands of the Sha'tar.

The Renegade War

A'dal saw the forest as the Arakkoa's birthright and so he rightfully placed the entire region under the joint leadership of Kirrik and Rilak the Redeemed. Seeing the old and broken Skettis as a twisted parody of their race's evil past, the Arakkoa constructed a new capital, Rek Skettis, in the eastern half of the forest. The coregency reigned pristinely from Rek Skettis for at least ten years until a large group of Rukhmar loyalists led a coup d'état against Kirrik and Rilak. In the chaotic fray that ensued, Kirrik was murdered and Rilak was deposed from power and exiled. The Rek Skettis High Priest, Eshkaal (who was a Terokk dark priest before his conversion), saw it his duty to rally the remaining Arakkoa against the powerful loyalists. With the aid of their closest ally, the Sha'tar, Eshkaal and his army waged a dangerous war against the enthusiast rebels who now named themselves "The Renegade".

Founding of the Convocation

The Renegade War lasted for years, but its decisive end would be at the Battle of Tuurem where Eshkaal's forces and the Sha'tari were humiliatingly defeated. Eshkaal then realized that Terokkar was a lost hope. He saw the whole of Outland as nothing more than a wasted and decaying landscape not worth fighting over. Knowing this, he desired to lead his people to Azeroth. He had heard rumors before from travelers regarding Azeroth's might and the various races and factions that inhabited it. This led to the formation of the Convocation, a sect of Arakkoa who wished to accompany Eshkaal on his journey to Azeroth. Those who wanted to stay in Outland would fight until the end in order to reclaim Terokkar. However, there was only one problem that stood in Eshkaal's way.
