Race Collective Walker (Mechanical)
Level Boss
Reaction Alliance Horde
Location The March of Ages; Vanahal, the Mantle's Rest

The Reclaimed Thronekeeper is the first boss of Vanahal, the Mantle's Rest. It is a Dwarven-gnomish mechanical walker that has been fused with reclaimed titanic technology. The Stonefell Collective has positioned it at the gates of Vanahal, ready to break the invaders' advance before it starts.

Background

Dungeon Journal

Since their descent into Dun Valdr, the Stonefell Collective has fought for every scrap of Titanic machinery they could get their hands on. This fusion of dwarven, gnomish, and titanic technology has resulted in weapons of unbridled destruction. This construct was forged to guard the gates of Vanahal, stolen energy building up just beneath its surface.

Abilities

  • Ability rogue cannonballbarrage.png Mantlebuster Cannon Tank Alert — Unleashes a deadly salvo from its arm cannon, dealing a cone of significant fire damage centered on its current target and afflicting all players hit with Warming Up.
    • Ability hisek aim.png Warming Up Tank Alert — The Mantlebuster Cannon has primed its targeting software to those recently hit, causing Mantlebuster Cannon to deal 300% increased damage to them for a short time.
  • Spell paladin lightofdawn.png Titanic Energy Important — Slowly builds up Titanic Energy over time, increasing fire damage dealt for each percentage. Also increases whenever it absorbs Pure Energy. At 100%, the Reclaimed Thronekeeper undergoes a Meltdown.
    • Ability warlock inferno.png Meltdown — At 100% energy, the Thronekeeper overloads itself, dealing significant arcane damage to the raid that drops off with distance and stunning itself for 30 seconds, taking increased damage. Multiple Armor Fragments are launched across the battlefield, as well.
    • Inv misc enggizmos 12.png Magnetic Reconstruction — At the end of Meltdown, all Armor Fragments of the Thronekeeper that were blasted off are magnetically pulled back towards the boss, dealing lethal physical damage to anyone struck.
  • Inv misc missilesmall red.png Mimiron's Missile Array — Targets the current locations of all players, firing a missile 3 seconds later, dealing AOE fire damage.
  • Spell fire incinerate.png Ignis' Flame Gout — Faces a random player and unleashes a cone of fire damage.
  • Ability vehicle siegeenginecannon.png Shoulder-Mounted Blaster — Intermittently blasts 3 random players, dealing light fire damage for over X seconds.
  • Spell arcane arcanetorrent.png Thorim's Stormcannon — Focuses on a random player for X seconds before blasting them with lighting, dealing lethal damage split between all targets within X yards.
  • Ability vehicle sonicshockwave.png Loken's Arcane Eye Important — Charges a random player with titanic power, dealing arcane damage over time. When expired, it produces a patch of Pure Energy on the ground.
    • Spell mage supernova.png Pure Energy — Deals constant arcane damage to any player standing inside. If within X yards of the Reclaimed Thronekeeper, it absorbs the pool and gains Titanic Energy.

Heroic Changes Heroic Difficulty

  • Inv misc missilesmall red.png Napalm Delivery — The missiles launched during Mimiron's Missile Array create a small pool of napalm on the ground, dealing fire damage to those standing in it. Napalm pools are removed following Meltdown.
  • Ability racial rocketbarrage.png Emergency Bombardment Protocol — While the Thronekeeper is undergoing Meltdown, it shoots multiple missiles at random locations around the raid every X seconds, landing a X seconds later.

Mythic Changes Mythic Difficulty

  • During Mythic mode, the Reclaimed Thronekeeper does not get stunned or take extra damage following Meltdown. After reaching 100% energy, the Thronekeeper explodes, dealing significant arcane damage to the entire raid that drops with distance, and throws Armor Fragments around the battlefield, but continues attacking. For 30 seconds, it launches random missiles around the raid with Emergency Bombardment Protocol, and then all Armor Fragments are pulled back with Magnetic Reconstruction, dealing lethal physical damage to all players struck.

Strategy

  • Reclaimed Thronekeeper utilizes a lot of AOE attacks, but damage can be mitigated by quick movement and proper positioning. Players will want to be far enough away from others so everyone can have room to evade missiles and dodge cones of fire, but be close enough to split the damage from Thorim's Stormcannon.
  • Be mindful of the position of Armor Fragments on the battlefield, as they will zip back to the Thronekeeper after 30 seconds, dealing lethal damage to everything in their path.
  • The boss gains Titanic Energy slowly over time, increasing the damage its fire attacks deal. Early on, players want to stop it from absorbing pools of Pure Energy, instead building up a large number of pools to be utilized later in the fight. Once over 75%, the Thronekeeper's fire attacks will be dealing damage significant enough to overwhelm the healers, so players will want to kite the boss to the pools in order to rapidly increase its energy and expedite the transition to Meltdown. Using pools too early will leave the boss at a very high energy but unable to speed it up, prolonging the time it is able to deal the most damage.

Heroic Strategies Heroic Difficulty

  • Space is even more limited now that missiles leave pools of napalm. Cluster enough on the edges to maximize space usage, but don't be caught off guard from cones of flame and pools of pure energy.
  • It becomes more difficult to be mindful of armor fragments once everyone is moving to avoid missile barrages following Meltdown. Watch your step or get flattened!

Mythic Strategies Mythic Difficulty

  • There is no longer a 30 second breather following Meltdown to top off health and get extra damage in.
  • Now that the Thronekeeper is active following Meltdown, the path of armor fragments is more variable, so watch your footing during Magnetic Reconstruction!
