Teikao Siang is the 2nd boss encounter located in the Palace of the Risen Emperor. This creature holds direct control over the various weathers and can easily use it to its advantage in defeating enemies. Normally unable to speak, spending time with ally Lei Shen has granted Teikao the ability to speak and think much more intelligently.

Background

As Lei Shen returned to take over his once abandoned palace, he called out to the storms raging in the skies above. With this, a massive creature appeared to lend its assistance and grant power to Lei Shen. Known as Teikao Siang, this malevolent beast agreed to serve the Thunder King under the condition that Lei Shen grant the dragon some of his power. The King agreed, and both creatures surged with the power of the other and thus became the best of allies. Teikao now resides alone on the Terrace of Storms, surrounded by shifting storms and winds. Battle against this creature may prove deadly due to this dragon's ability to control the very air his enemies breathe.

Encounter Abilities

Teikao Siang lords over the Terrace of Storms where his enemies fall victim to his supreme control of the weather. He immediately goes berserk at 10 minutes on Normal and Heroic. The timer increases to 12 minutes on LFR difficulty.

Master of Storm and Air

Teikao Siang has complete control over any type of weather. When engaged, he selects a random Weather ability out of four and continues using that Weather and its related abilities for the remainder of the encounter. Teikao Siang changes the Weather each week.

  • Spell nature tranquility.png Weather: Heavy Rain Important —  Teikao calls forth a powerful rainstorm that falls endlessly upon the Terrace. The massive rain inflicts 25,000 (LFR: 12,500 /Heroic Difficulty: 50,000) Frost damage per sec. and causes players to become progressively soaked in rain. The heavy rain also falls in a direction every 30 seconds and may change directions early if Teikao personally changes the direction with an ability. Players who face the direction the rain is falling to will be able to avoid half of the damage for as long as they are facing that direction. Players who face the direction the rain is falling from will be suffering twice the damage and lose 25% of their hit rating and haste rating for as long as they are facing that direction. 5 sec cast
    • Inv elemental primal water.png Soaked In Rain Healer Alert —  As Tei'kao's powerful rainstorm falls relentlessly on players, they become increasingly soaked. This effect increases Frost and Nature damage taken by 5% (LFR: 3% /Heroic Difficulty: 8%) per stack. This effect stacks every 3 seconds.

  • Spell shaman thunderstorm.png Weather: Thunderstorm Important —  Teikao calls forth a terrifying lightning storm that mercilessly strikes the Terrace. Every 10 seconds, a lightning strike occurs that strikes a random section of the terrace that inflicts 400,000 (LFR: 200,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 800,000) Nature damage to all players with the damage reduced based on distance from the impact point. Every minute of the encounter that passes by causes the lightning strikes to occur 1 second faster. Teikao will also cast Attraction Mark during this Weather ability. 5 sec cast
    • Spell nature callstorm.png Attraction Mark Important —  As players battle Teikao Siang while his Thunderstorm is in play, the dragon will cast Attraction Mark on 2 (LFR: 3 /25-man: 5) players throughout the encounter. Those under the effects of this ability will cause the thunderstorm's next lightning strike to target the affected players. The damage of the attracted lightning strikes will be divided among all players within 6 yards of the struck targets. 20 second cooldown.

  • Ability deathknight remorselesswinters.png Weather: Raging Blizzard Healer Alert —  Teikao calls forth a devastating blizzard that snares and overwhelms his enemies on the Terrace. The powerful blizzard inflicts 600,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 900,000) Frost damage to all players every 2 sec. and applies Frostbite that increases the damage of Raging Blizzard by 5% per stack. The damage is divided among all players and the Raging Blizzard also reduces the movement speed of all players by 50% and lowers the haste rating of all players by 10% (LFR: 5% /Heroic Difficulty: 25%). 5 sec cast. 25-man: The blizzard inflicts 1,800,000 (LFR: 300,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 2,400,000) Frost damage to all players every 2 sec. with the damage dividing among all players.
    • Ability mage deepfreeze.png Cold Wave Heroic Difficulty Healer Alert —  Every 30 seconds, a cold wave occurs during Teikao Siang's Raging Blizzard. This effect inflicts a burst of freezing wind to all players that deals 300,000 Frost damage and freezes all players in place for 10 seconds. While frozen in place, players will lose 25% of their maximum health.

  • Spell nature cyclone.png Weather: Massive Winds Important —  Teikao calls forth an unstoppable windstorm that is used to defeat his enemies. The massive windstorm covers a 50-yard radius out of the 60-yard radius of the Terrace. Players within the windstorm periodically take 100,000 (LFR: 50,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 200,000) Nature damage every 3 seconds. The massive winds will also push players in a random direction every 20 seconds. Players attempting to leave the windstorm will take 1,000,000 Nature damage every 0.5 seconds. This damage is negated if Teikao knocks players out of the windstorm himself. 5 sec cast
    • Achievement dungeon thevortexpinnacle lordertan.png Tornado Elemental Damage Dealer Alert —  When Teikao calls forth the massive winds, creatures of air will flank his enemies from outside the windstorm. Two Tornado Elementals appear on 10-man and LFR while four are summoned on 25-man non-LFR difficulty.
      • 10: 6,542,205
      • 10H: 8,722,739
      • LFR: 9,813,307
      • 25: 19,626,615
      • 25H: 26,168,217
      • Spell nature earthbind.png Gust Bolt Interruptible —  The airy elemental fires a concentrated ball of wind towards a player outside the windstorm. Inflicts 88,500 (LFR: 44,250 /Heroic Difficulty: 177,000) Nature damage and sends a gust to knock that player back into Teikao's windstorm. 2.5 sec cast.
      • Spell nature eyeofthestorm.png Cloud Nova Deadly —  The elemental unleashes a barrage of powerful winds towards all players within Teikao's massive winds. This inflicts 150,000 (LFR: 75,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 300,000) Nature damage per second for 30 seconds. The Tornado elemental will use this ability if there are no players outside the massive winds. 2 sec cast into channel.
      • Ability druid astralstorm.png Air Buffet Heroic Difficulty Healer Alert —  The elemental releases a blast of strong winds that strikes all players in and out of the massive winds. This attack deals 125,000 Nature damage to all players and increases the damage taken by Air Buffet by 5% for 60 seconds. This effect stacks. 10 second cooldown.

Heavy Rain Abilities

With his rainstorm in play, Teikao Siang will attack players with related abilities.

  • Spell nature riptide.png Monsoon Blast Healer Alert —  Teikao unleashes a stream of cooling winds in the direction of a random player 50 yards away that deals 180,000 (LFR: 90,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 360,000) Froststorm damage and knocks down any player hit for 1.5 seconds. This ability also forces Teikao's Heavy Rain to fall towards the direction of the targeted player. 2.5 sec cast. 12 second cooldown.
  • Inv misc monsterclaw 02.png Aqueous Claw Tank Alert —  Teikao swipes all players 7 yards in front of him with his rain-soaked claws. Inflicts 600,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 1,150,000) Froststrike damage and applies Wet Wound to the target. 25-man: Deals 1,000,000 (LFR: 550,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,450,000) Froststrike damage and applies 2 stacks of Wet Wound. 6 second cooldown.
    • Spell frost manarecharge.png Wet Wound Healer Alert —  Taking damage from Aqueous Claw causes players to suffer from a serious gash. This injury deals 65,000 (LFR: 32,500 /Heroic Difficulty: 130,000) Physical damage every 2 sec. for 30 seconds. Every 6 seconds, this effect deals Frost damage and benefits from the Soaked in Rain effect from Teikao's Heavy Rain. This effect stacks. Heroic Difficulty: Wet Wound will also reduce the player's total health by 5% per stack.
  • Spell frost icestorm.png Freezing Rain Important —  At 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% health, Teikao Siang significantly drops the temperature of his Heavy Rain to that of freezing properties. The sudden temperature drop causes the rain to deal 500,000 (LFR: 250,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,000,000) Frost damage per sec. and reduces all players' movement speed by 50% for 30 seconds. Players within 6 yards of one another take divided damage. Freezing Rain continues to apply the Soaked In Rain effect to players. Channeled ability.

Thunderstorm Abilities

With the Thunderstorm raging about, Teikao will assault his enemies with related attacks.

  • Spell nature lightningoverload.png Wave of Thunder Deadly —  Teikao sends an electrical wave towards a distant player. Inflicts 450,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 900,000) Nature damage to that player and knocks all players near that target away. 25-man: Inflicts 1,350,000 (LFR: 675,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,800,000) Nature damage to the target and knocks all player away. Total damage is divided among nearby players. 1.3 sec cast. 15 second cooldown. Heroic Difficulty: Wave of Thunder applies Thunder Vulnerability for 45 seconds to all affected players that increases the damage taken by Wave of Thunder by 100% per stack.
  • Ability vehicle electrocharge.png Static Breath Tank Alert Magic Effect —  Teikao assaults his enemy with a blast of intense electricity that disrupts the target enemy's body. Inflicts 600,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 1,000,000) Nature damage and stuns the target for 4 seconds. This effect also removes the affected player's threat for as long as they are stunned. 25-man: Inflicts 1,200,000 (LFR: 550,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,800,000) Nature damage and stuns the target for 12 seconds. Threat is also removed from the affected player for as long as they are stunned. 1.7 sec cast. 8 second cooldown.
  • Spell nature groundingtotem.png Lightning Connection Important —  Teikao links 2 (Heroic Difficulty: 3) players together with static electricity. These players continuously suffer 120,000 (LFR: 60,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 180,000) Nature damage until the link is broken. Players that are linked together can break the chain by moving 10 (Heroic Difficulty: 18) yards away from a linked ally. 25-man: Teikao links 3 (LFR: 2 /Heroic Difficulty: 5) players together. This ability is targeted towards the players that are within 8 yards of one another. If there are no players close enough to one another to be targeted by this ability, Teikao will link all players together. 1.1 sec cast. 30 second cooldown. Heroic Difficulty: Lightning Connection inflicts increasing damage every 2 seconds. In addition, if an unlinked player stands between two linked players, they will take the damage instead which results in the damage returning to its original value.
    • Spell nature purge.png Broken Vitality Heroic Difficulty Deadly —  Players that break the Lightning Connection are rendered weak and more susceptible to Teikao's Lightning Connection and Wave of Thunder. For the next 2 minutes, players will take fatal damage from the next Wave of Thunder or Lightning Connection ability. This effect is also applied to players who intercept the electricity linking players together.
  • Spell frost ice shards.png Hailstorm Heroic Difficulty Deadly Important —  When Teikao reaches 75%, 50% and 25% health, he calls down a violent and destructive storm of hail from his thunderstorm cloud. The Hailstorm lasts for 30 seconds in addition to the Thunderstorm. Hail falls upon the terrace and on the location of all players every 0.5 sec., dealing 350,000 Frost damage to players within the 6 yard impact area. 0.8 sec cast.

Raging Blizzard Abilities

With the Blizzard slowing overwhelming his foes, Teikao looks to finish the job by freezing them solid.

  • Spell frost arcticwinds.png Icy Breath Tank Alert —  Teikao breathes an extremely cold burst of air that chills all players 50 yards in front of him. Inflicts 675,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 1,350,000) Frost damage over 1.5 seconds. 25-man: Inflicts 1,200,000 (LFR: 450,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 1,800,000) Frost damage over 1.5 seconds. Affected players move 20% slower and this movement reduction stacks with the Raging Blizzard's speed impairment. Channeled ability. 10 second cooldown
  • Ability mage frostjaw.png Growing Cold Magic Effect Healer Alert —  Teikao overwhelms 2 (Heroic Difficulty: 3) players with unbearable cold. This effect deals 75,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 125,000) Frost damage every 2 seconds and increases in damage over time. In addition, the movement speed of affected players is reduced by 10% every 2 seconds down to a 100% movement speed reduction. If this effect is removed or the target dies, a cold explosion occurs that strikes all players within 10 yards that deals 300,000 (LFR: 85,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 575,000) Frost damage and freezes affected players in place for 5 seconds. The explosion also occurs if Growing Cold reduces a player's movement speed to 100%. 25-man: Teikao applies Growing Cold to 4 (LFR: 2 /Heroic Difficulty: 6) players and they will suffering 100,000 (LFR: 35,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 185,000) Frost damage every 2 sec. that increases in damage over time. 15 second cooldown.
  • Spell mage frostbomb.png Frigid Bomb Important Damage Dealer Alert —  Teikao Siang summons forth 2 chillingly powerful orbs from the edges of the Terrace. These orbs target and pursue 2 players with increasing speed. If the orb reaches its target or its target dies, it releases a devastating explosion that inflicts 500,000 (LFR: 125,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 2,500,000) Frost damage to all players within 50 yards. A smaller 10-yard explosion occurs if the orb is destroyed. The orbs will reach maximum speed after 8 seconds (Heroic Difficulty: 4). Teikao calls forth up to 4 orbs that each pursue their own targets with increasing speed on 25-man difficulty. 15 second cooldown.
      • 10: 1,177,569
      • 10H: 1,962,616
      • LFR: 1,766,354
      • 25: 3,532,707
      • 25H: 5,887,848
  • Spell ice lament.png Permeating Freeze Magic Effect Important —  At 70%, 40% and 10% health, Teikao overwhelms his enemies with an intense amount of cold that rids the air of any remaining heat. This effect deals 25,000 (LFR: 12,500 /Heroic Difficulty: 75,000) Frost damage per sec. and applies a stack of Permeating Freeze every time this effect deals damage twice. This damage is multiplied by the amount of stacks currently affecting players. Teikao's power over the cold protects this ability from the effects of an area dispel. 1.5 sec cast. Heroic Difficulty: Permeating Freeze lowers the health of all affected players by 10% per stack. This effect loses a single stack instead of being completely removed if the affected player is dispelled.
    • Ability mage chilledtothebone.png Dead Ice Deadly Important —  If Permeating Freeze reaches 5 (LFR: 10) stacks on a player, they will fatally succumb to Teikao's violent chill, reducing their maximum health to 1 and preventing the player from performing any actions. If Teikao strikes a frozen player with one of his abilities or that player dies, the frozen player explodes in a devastating explosion that inflicts Frost damage to all players equal to 150% (LFR: 75%) of their maximum health. This effect damages players through immunity effects. If a player survives this effect, Dead Ice will be applied to them.

Massive Winds Abilities

With the powerful windstorm ripping through his foes, Teikao seeks to use his power over the winds to obliterate his enemies.

  • Ability druid galewinds.png Wind Rip Healer Alert —  Teikao Siang unleashes a cone of shredding winds that cuts through all players within the affected area. This effect deals 750,000 (Heroic Difficulty: 1,250,000) Nature damage to players in the cone with the damage divided among all players present in the cone of this attack. If this attack does not hit at least 3 (Heroic Difficulty: 5) players, Teikao will unleash a Wind Nova against all players. 25-man: This effect deals 2,250,000 (LFR: 450,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 3,750,000) Nature damage, divided among all players in the cone. If this attack does not hit at least 5 (LFR: 2 /Heroic Difficulty: 7) players, Teikao will unleash a Wind Nova against all players. Important Players hit by this ability will be blasted outside the Windstorm where the Tornado Elementals reside. 2.5 sec cast. 45 second cooldown.
    • Inv elemental primal air.png Wind Nova Deadly —  Teikao Siang will cast this ability if he fails to strike a certain number of players with his Wind Rip ability. This attack strikes all players inside and outside the Windstorm for 2,000,000 (LFR: 335,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 4,000,000) Nature damage. Teikao Siang is capable of damaging players through immunity effects with this attack. Teikao Siang will also cast Wind Nova if there are no players within the windstorm during his Violent Hurricane ability. 4 sec cast.
  • Ability druid typhoon.png Windwrath Fury Tank Alert Healer Alert —  Teikao Siang becomes enveloped in a twisting cyclone that empowers him from within. The dragon's attack speed increases by 100% (LFR: 50% /Heroic Difficulty: 250%) for 1 minute. While under this effect, Teikao will apply Draining Winds onto his target. Draining Winds reduces the affected player's total health by 3% per stack lasting 5 (Heroic Difficulty: 30) seconds. 45 second cooldown.
  • Achievement dungeon thevortexpinnacle lordertan.png Call Winds Damage Dealer Alert Important —  Teikao Siang summons forth 1 Tornado Elemental to flank his enemies from outside the windstorm. Teikao will only use this ability if there are no Tornado Elementals already present outside the storm. 25-man: Teikao calls forth two Tornado Elementals to attack players but only if there no elementals lurking outside the windstorm. 1 sec cast. 50 second cooldown.
  • Spell nature eyeofthestorm.png Violent Hurricane Important —  Every 15% health lost, Teikao transforms his Massive Winds into a deadly hurricane that threatens to destroy all players. Players are pushed in several directions at once while suffering 120,000 (LFR: 60,000 /Heroic Difficulty: 240,000) Nature damage every second. While affected by the hurricane, players will be knocked around if they take damage from Teikao's abilities. The Hurricane lasts for 40 seconds and players can safely leave the windstorm. 2 sec cast. Heroic Difficulty: The Violent Hurricane will cause players to fly through the air at reduced speed.

Strategy

Teikao Siang can be a difficult encounter or a simplistic fight based on the set of abilities he chooses during a given week. The abilities chosen are determined by the "main" mechanic ability selected. These abilities are considered Teikao's Weather abilities.

Heavy Rain

His first Heavy Rain Weather ability, Teikao affects the entire encounter area. This ability is an aura-type weather that forces player to control where they are facing. The Heavy Rain falls in a random direction every half minute. Players should be more attentive during this Weather and face the direction the rain falls to in order to take half damage for effectively the entire fight. Facing where the rain falls from speeds up the player's process of dying as they take twice the damage from Heavy Rain and lose a quarter of their hit and haste rating, which ends up making their contribution to the fight worthless. In addition to that, Heavy Rain periodically applies Soaked In Rain to all players that increases the Nature and Frost damage taken during the encounter. This makes the Heavy Rain deal increasing damage over the course of the encounter along with Teikao's Weather related abilities hitting harder as the fight progresses.

Teikao Siang will use the following abilities during Heavy Rain.

Monsoon Blast deals low damage at first but soon starts to reach dangerous level as the fight progresses. Player should take care not to get hit by this ability near the end of the battle as they will undoubtedly get one-shot by the damage. Other than the damage, Monsoon Blast will also knock down any it hits and causes the Heavy Rain to fall towards the direction this ability was targeted at. When this ability is cast, players should steer clear of the targeted area and quickly adjust to the Heavy Rain's direction as to not take increased damage from it.

Aqueous Claw is a cleave like attack which means that only a single tank should be struck by this ability and no one else. The cleave also applies Wet Wound to anyone hit (two stacks will be applied at a time on 25-man). This debuff is a stacking DoT effect that lasts for about 30 seconds. Therefore, tanks should swap after reaching a nearly unhealable amount of stacks. In addition, this DoT deals Frost damage every 6 seconds (every three ticks in other words) which benefits from the Soaked in Rain debuff. This DoT's specialty calls for healers to stay on their game even after tanks have switched. The initial strike of the cleave also deals Froststrike damage (Frost or Physical damage depending on which will deal more damage, in this case being Frost damage) which is of course amplified by Soaked In Rain. If the fight takes too long, not only will Heavy Rain begin killing players, the tanks are more likely to die first due to Aqueous Claw deal dangerous amounts of damage. So in short, the fight needs to be completed before things get out of hand.

Freezing Rain occurs every 20%, which amplifies Heavy Rain to deal raid-wiping damage to players not stacked up together and slows movement speed. The solution to surviving this effect for the 30 seconds is to stack up and, during the later Freezing Rain abilities, heal like crazy as this ability will be dealing a lot of damage.

These abilities and their simplicity makes Teikao's Heavy Rain ability Dps race.

Thunderstorm

Teikao may use his Thunderstorm Weather Ability when encounter. This weather ability releases a lightning strike every 10 seconds that hits a random part of the platform which deals raidwide damage to all players for high damage. Fortunately this damage is survivable based on the fact that its damage is reduced the farther away players are from the impact point. This gives players more "control" over how much damage they take from the lightning strikes. Additionally, each minute of the encounter that passes by (the encounter is 10 minutes long) causes the lightning strikes to occur 1 second faster. This mechanic functions similarly to Ultraxion's Twilight Instability ability in that the damage dealt occurs more often as the fight progresses towards the enrage timer. In Teikao's case, at 9 minutes, right before the enrage, the Lightning Strikes occur every second on random parts of the platform that eventually requires that the raid finish off the boss or admit defeat. Teikao should be beaten before the encounter gets to this point.

In addition to the Thunderstorm, Teikao also afflicts 2 players (5 on 25-man) that causes the next lightning strike to hit all affected players for damage that will be divided among all players nearby. Because of this, players may want to stack up with the raid to reduce the damage as much as possible (especially during the later parts of the encounter where 2-3 second intervals between lightning strikes start becoming a problem. Cooldowns will eventually be needed to survive the DPS from the Lightning Striks at this point.

During the Thunderstorm, Teikao uses the following abilities which requires reactive attention.

Wave of Thunder is targeted at the player who is the most distant from Teikao. This ability deals a high amount of damage but it is divided among nearby players. When fought on Normal and LFR, this attack can be soaked by the same group of players once they take the previous hit. Some cooldowns may be needed to survive this attack at later stages of the encounter where the Thunderstorm is striking quite often. The knockback component of this attack is not that much to worry about since the range is small. About two players on 10-man can safely soak the Wave while four can soak on 25-man.

Static Breath deals moderate damage (for Normal and LFR; Heroic may require a cooldown or two) but applies an annoying stun that removes the current tank's threat for the duration of the stun. Since the stun can be dispelled, Teikao can be single tanked (which effectively provides more Dps) for as a long as the stun is removed right away or else the boss will turn to take out the strongest Dps.

Lightning Connection is applied to players that are stacked together with 8 yards. Two players (three for 25-man Normal) are selected and they must run away from each other until they are 10 yards apart. They will take constant damage if they do not which will end up killing them. The raid shouldn't worry too much about the threat of Teikao linking the entire raid together with this ability since there should always be players stacked up to soak the Wave of Thunder or grouping up to divide the damage from the Thunderstorm's Lightning Strike against players under the effect of Attraction Mark. Players need to be aware if they have the Lightning Connection debuff and call out when they have it (or a designated player can call out who has what), especially if they are soaking the Wave of Thunder in which case an backup player can fill in for them until they return. Teikao will never cast Attraction Mark on those afflicted with Lightning Connection so the risk of such an occurrence should not be an concern for anyone.

Raging Blizzard

When it comes to fighting Teikao during Raging Blizzard, this weather is similar to Heavy Rain by deal constant damage to the whole raid and increases the damage done over time. However, the difference between both weather abilities is that Raging Blizzard deals hefty damage, strong enough that its damage is divided among all players so that if a single person dies, the overall damage taken by the rest of the raid increases dramatically which may result in further raid deaths. The Raging Blizzard Weather ability also slows movement speed and lowers haste of all players, effectively requiring the raid to push out more Dps and healing to defeat the boss before either the 10 minute enrage occurs or the Raging Blizzard's Frostbite stacks overwhelm the healers.

Along with the Raging Blizzard, Teikao uses Frost-based attacks.

Icy Breath serves just as tank damage (with its heroic version requiring a defensive cooldown to successfully survive the damage) which is the least of the raid's concern. The snare effect applied stacks with Raging Blizzard down to a minimum of 70% reduced speed, however the tank rarely needs to move during this Weather ability so the snare is of little importance (Teikao's other abilities Growing Cold and Frigid Bomb will not target either tank player).

Growing Cold is a stack DoT/Snare debuff applied to several players (2 / 4 for 10 and 25-man respectively) that deals increasing damage over time and progressively slows movement speed down to 100% speed reduction. Players with this debuff must move away from others (and not into each other) and have it removed via self dispel or another player. Moving away from other players before dispelling Growing Cold is essential due to the resulting explosion when it is removed, whether the player dies or is dispelled. The snare/DoT debuff also causes an explosion centered around the affected player(s) if their movement speed is completely reduced to 0%. However, this occurs after 20 seconds of gaining the debuff so there should be little problem in getting away from everyone else and then having the debuff dispelled (it must be removed quickly as the rising damage of Growing Cold will quickly kill the player).

Frigid Bomb calls for immediate attention as these orbs are summoned from the edges of the terrace which proceed to head for randomly chosen players. The moment theses orbs are summoned, they must be switched to and killed (preferably by ranged, who are able to deal more damage to the orbs than melee) quickly before the reach full speed after 8 seconds and end up dealing severe damage to the raid if not killing people. Targeted players should move away from the orbs to give Dps more time to defeat the orbs if they are at full speed before they reach their targets. Ironically enough, Frigid Bombs are capable of being slowed but not past normal movement speed. This can be helpful during the last minutes of the encounter where eagerness to defeat Teikao can overtake priorities (in this Weather's case, Frigid Bomb > Growing Cold > Teikao Siang).

Permeating Freeze is a health based, raid-wide DoT applied when Teikao reaches 70%, 40% and 10% health. This DoT, similar to Growing Cold and the more dangerous Raging Blizzard, increases in damage to the point of wiping the raid very quickly. Every two ticks of this ability, this DoT gains a stack which multiplies the damage per stack. Because of this, Permeating Freeze must be dispelled quickly with the use of an AoE based dispel ( [Mass Dispel] comes into play for this ability) or the DoT will apply Dead Ice on anyone who reaches 5 stacks.

Dead Ice cannot be removed so it should never come into play, and if an affected player takes damage from Teikao, not only will the frozen player die but a raid-wiping explosion will occur that cannot be avoided.

Massive Winds

This Weather ability is the only one out of the four Weather abilities that doesn't increase in damage (either by debuff stacks or frequency). It deals static damage over the course of the encounter and can be healed through easily. The windstorm also pushes players in a random direction every 20 seconds so everyone needs to be aware of their position at all times. If they touch the "walls" of the storm, they will take substantial amounts of damage that will kill anyone in under a second. Therefore, players need to keep track of what direction they are being pushed and try to remain near the terrace's center. The only way to safely leave the windstorm is to have Teikao knock players out of the area with his Wind Rip ability.

Teikao's Wind Rip is directed at a random player's direction at the time of the cast. This damage is too fatal for a single person to absorb which requires that other players move in the AoE cone to help split the damage safely. Up to 3 players (5 for 25-man) must stand in the cone of the Wind Rip to prevent Teikao from triggering Wind Nova which will wipe the raid instantly. In addition to taking the damage from Wind Rip, those players will be knocked out of the massive winds safely where they can attack the Tornado Elemental adds that lurk. This also stops them from suffering the effects of Massive Winds.

Those inside the Windstorm should attempt to keep whatever effects they can on the boss that slows his attack speed and/or reduces his damage in order to counter his Windwrath Flurry ability. This increases his attack speed by a significant amount and also causes his melee attacks to apply a stacking effect known as Draining Winds which lowers the current tank's health by 3%. Since this occurs only when the attack speed buff is in play, this effect will stack up very quickly, to the point where Teikao will drop his target in one hit. When it comes to this Weather ability, two tanks are a must.

Another thing players should worry about is that every time Teikao loses 15% of his health, he changes the playing field by casting Violent Hurricane that lasts for roughly 40 seconds. This storm pushes all players in different directions individually (one player would be pushed back while another would be pushed left) and the damage taken increases. While players can safely leave the windstorm during the hurricane, they will be knocked around if Teikao strikes them with an ability and someone needs to stay in the storm or else Teikao will cast Wind Nova if he is left by himself.

Tornado Elemental

Throughout the encounter with Teikao while Massive Winds is in play, these air elemental adds will appear shortly into the encounter and attempt to quickly wipe the raid if they are ignored. Designated groups of players should rotate between taking the Wind Rip attack so that they can leave the windstorm and deal with the adds.

Unless someone is outside the storm, the elementals will attempt to spam Cloud Nova on the raid which results in a wipe due to multiple elementals casting this ability. Moving out of the windstorm by Wind Rip stops the channeling of the AoE. These adds will instead cast Gust Bolt on players outside the storm which deal low damage but forcefully sends the target back into the storm so that they can attempt to kill the raid with Cloud Nova. Those assigned to kill the adds must ensure the elemental never get off a single Gust Bolt or else they will be sent back into the storm. Any form of crowd control can halt the actions of the adds which should be used to buy more time on killing them. The Tornado Elementals take priority over Teikao during this Weather ability.

Every 50 seconds, Teikao casts Call Winds which summons a tornado add to once again attack the raid. Since players will be soaking the Wind Rip attack, there will always be people to tackle the adds once they spawn. Note that Teikao will only cast Call Winds if there are no elementals present outside the windstorm for both 10-player and 25-player modes. Once these adds are killed, players can safely return into the storm to assist in defeating Teikao Siang.

Heroic Changes

Heavy Rain

  • Each application of Wet Wound reduces the affected target's health by 5% per stack.

Thunderstorm

  • Thunder Vulnerability is applied to players struck by Wave of Thunder, which requires additional groups of players to soak the attack.
  • Lightning Connection will deal more and more damage to players the longer it lasts on them and if a player happens to intervene the links between players, they end up suffering the damage instead but the damage taken resets to its original values.
  • Lightning Connection will also apply Broken Vitality to players who successfully break the link and to those who intercept the link between players. This effect will instantly kill their victims if they take damage from Lightning Connection or Wave of Thunder.
  • Every quarter of Teikao's health that is lost causes him to unleashes a massive Hailstorm that quickly kills anyone who remains stationary for just a second. The hailstorm will also strike random areas of the terrace that can prove fatal to the unaware.

Raging Blizzard

  • Every 30 seconds of the encounter against Teikao's Raging Blizzard, a Cold Wave occurs which deals strong damage to players and prevents movement. This prevention can prove fatal when combined with Teikao's abilities.
  • Permeating Freeze will lower players' max health per stack which serves to quickly kill players if a dispel fails a second too short. This ability also requires multiple dispels as it will only lose 1 stack instead of being completely removed.

Massive Winds

  • The Tornado Elementals will attempt to cast an Air Buffet which increases in damage with each cast which in turn gives them top priority over Teikao Siang.
  • Teikao's Violent Hurricane will causes players to fly through the air but at a much lower speed than normal. Teikao will also gain flight during this ability.
