With the Lich King's reign of terror over, the Nerubians are now poised to retake their home in a legacy defining fight against extinction. What were once enclosed dungeons overrun run by the living dead and maniacal cultists have been restored to their former stunning glory, opening up the vast underworld of Northrend all that much more.
Azjol-Nerub appears in the Whispers of Madness expansion.
History
Geography
The entrance to Azjol-Nerub lies beneath Dragonblight within the Pit of Narjun, widened considerably after the Cataclysm. Azjol-nerub, despite only encompassing the approximate length of Dragonblight, has a surprisingly unpredictable environment, proving difficult for scouting parties to give accurate reports back to the rest of the world. Riddled with bumpy hills, dotted with rocky outcroppings, and threaded with unexplored caves, the zone is home to a wide magnitude of critters and beasts unseen by many until just recently. Further more, the climate is much harsher than previously imagined, bearing pools of lava and groups of raving cultists hiding like roaches in the darkness.
