Dungeon Journal

Angerboda's most powerful servants, raised from the ranks of the vrykul honored dead. For millennia they have held unending vigil in the resting place of their people, but without a second thought Angerboda exhumed their corpses and ripped their souls from their slumber to reanimate them as her personal guard. Bregga Rimeblood, Skadi the Damned, Thorlief the Thunderer, Svetlana Sorrowgrave, Nodens One-Eye, and Fengris Wulfblood stand ready to slaughter the living in Angerboda's name.

The Encounter

  • Spell deathknight bloodplague.png Link of Reanimation  —  The Chosen are linked to one another in body, and have a shared health pool. When slain, they will reappear as Spirits. Three Chosen will have this at the beginning of the encounter.
  • Spell deathknight iceboundfortitude.png Link of Resurrection  —  The Chosen are linked to one another in soul, and will resurrect a slain Chosen with 33% of their health if they are not slain within 10 seconds of each other. The three remaining Chosen will have this when the first three have fallen.
  • Spell deathknight unholypresence.png Spirit Infusion  —  Any Chosen that is a Spirit may attempt to infuse themselves into a living Chosen. If a Spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, the Chosen is granted a bonus ability for 25 seconds. They also receive the permanent buff Chosen Infusion, which increases their damage by 10%. Chosen Infusion stacks. Players can intercept an infusion by moving into the spirit as it attempts to infuse into a Chosen. If a player intercepts the Spirit Infusion, they will absorb the spirit instead and become Mind Controlled for 15 seconds. They will also be afflicted with the debuff Weakened Spirit, which extends the time of subsequent mind control by 5 seconds per stack.

Bregga Rimeblood

  • Spell frost frostbolt02.png Frost Bolt  —  Deals a burst of frost damage to a random target. Interruptible.
  • Spell frost frostblast.png Column of Frost  —  Sends an arcing ball of frost at a target location, causing a burst of frost damage to anyone nearby when it strikes and freezing a stretch of ground in a line. Frozen ground deals periodic frost damage and slows movement speed. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Spell frost frostarmor.png Frost Revenant  —  Bregga will summon a Frost Revenant if there are not two enemies present that require tanks. The Frost Revenant uses Frozen Blade, which deals heavy physical damage to his target and causes additional frost damage over time for several seconds.
  • Spell deathknight icetouch.png Imbued with Frost  —  If Bregga's spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, she grants them this buff, which causes them to deal extra frost damage with their attacks.

Skadi the Damned

  • Ability hunter swiftstrike.png Axe Gouge  —  Skadi stuns his opponent for 1 second with a damaging physical strike that deals 150% damage.
  • Ability rogue disembowel.png Poison Axe Throw  —  Skadi throws an axe at a random target's location. Anyone who touches the axe as it flies will be afflicted with Poisoned Wound, which deals nature damage over time. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Ability rogue murderspree.png Killing Spree  —  Skadi attacks a random enemy within 15 yards of his primary target every 0.5 seconds for 7 attacks total. Whenever he strikes a target other than his primary, his next attack will deal 100% more damage. If he does not strike a target other than his primary, his next attack will have its damage reduced
  • Ability rogue vendetta.png Imbued with Ruthlessness  —  If Skadi's spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, he grants them this buff, which causes them to deal extra damage with all of their attacks.

Thorlief the Thunderer

  • Ability warrior focusedrage.png Promise of Doom  —  Cast on a random target. Anyone with this debuff who deals damage to any of the Chosen has a chance to trigger Strong Charge, which causes Thorlief to charge towards them, dealing a burst of physical damage and knocking them over.
  • Ability warrior charge.png Rapid Charge  —  Thorlief marks a random target. After a short time, Thorlief will instantly move to that target's location and charge around them in a circle, stunning them and dealing a burst of physical damage to anyone else caught in the charge, knocking them back. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Ability thunderclap.png Hammer Drop  —  Deals a burst of melee damage to the target. If the target loses more than 75% of their total health, Thorlief will gain a boost in attack damage for a short time. Interruptible.
  • Ability warrior intensifyrage.png Imbued with Fortitude —  If Thorlief's spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, he grants them this buff, which reduces the damage they take from physical attacks.

Svetlana Sorrowgrave

  • Ability priest surgeofdarkness.png Dark Radiance  —  Deals a burst of shadow damage to a random target. Interruptible.
  • Spell priest mindspike.png Arrow of Nibelung  —  Bombards a swath of the chamber with bolts of darkness, dealing periodic shadow damage to anyone who stands in the impact. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Achievement boss svalasorrowgrave.png Val'kyr Sword-Maiden  —  Svetlana summons a powerful Val'kyr Sword-Maiden if there are not two enemies present that require tanks. The Val'kyr Sword-Maiden uses Val'kyr Greatsword, which deals heavy physical damage to her target and causes additional shadow damage over time for several seconds.
  • Spell shadow burningspirit.png Imbued with Darkness —  If Svetlana's spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, she grants them this buff, which causes them to deal extra shadow damage with their attacks.

Nodens One-Eye

  • Spell shadow raisedead.png Raise Skeleton  —  Conjures a Rickety Skeleton that immediately races at a random target at high speed, assaulting them with regular attacks. They are extremely Fragile and will be destroyed by any direct damage attack. Interruptible.
  • Spell fire immolation.png Immolate  —  Afflicts the enemy with a burning curse, dealing them periodic fire damage. Nearby enemies will also take fire damage. Interruptible. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Spell shadow nightofthedead.png Grave Earth  —  Creates a patch of poisonous earth at a random location. Standing on the Grave Earth deals periodic shadowblight damage and causes a Rickety Skeleton to spawn and fixate on the target every second.
  • Ability deathknight boneshield.png Cloak of Bones  —  If Nodens' spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, he grants them this buff, which gives them a chance to reflect 50% of any damaging attack back at the attacker.

Fengris Wulfblood

  • Ability searingarrow.png Fire Shot  —  Deals a burst of fire damage to the target.
  • Spell fire moltenblood.png Fire Rune Trap  —  Launches a Fire Rune Trap at a target location, which immediately spawns a Fire Rune. Fire Runes cause a patch of flames to appear and grow out from the location of the rune. Anyone standing in the flames takes periodic fire damage. The rune can be stamped out by clicking on it at close range. Can be used when a spirit.
  • Ability druid predatoryinstincts.png Gouger  —  Fengris summons his fiery undead hound, Gouger, if there are not two enemies present that require tanks. Gouger uses Fire Tooth, which deals heavy physical damage to his target and causes additional fire damage over time for several seconds.
  • Spell fire flameshock.png Imbued with Flame  —  If Fengris' spirit successfully infuses into a Chosen, he grants them this buff, which causes them to deal extra fire damage with their attacks.

Strategy

The Chosen are a two phase encounter - in the first phase, three random Chosen will engage the raid. This first trio has linked life and will die simultaneously. The second trio does not have linked life and must be killed within 10 seconds of one another or they will resurrect. The first trio will re-appear as phantoms to support the second.

Heroic Difficulty Heroic Mode

  • Players that intercept a Spirit Infusion more than once will become permanently mind-controlled.
  • Chosen will be able to use their first ability as a Spirit as well as their second ability.

Achievement

  • Refuse Infuse - Defeat the Chosen without allowing any of them to acquire Spirit Infusion.
