The unwaking[1] is the term used when someone or something in the Emerald Dream is affected by the Nightmare.
In Orgrimmar, Thrall was among the first to become unwaking.[2] Everyone on Azeroth who had become an unwaking was freed when the Nightmare Lord was defeated.
In the RPG
It means that they are trapped in the Emerald Dream and their bodies are forced into a permanent sleep; they die of starvation unless carefully aided.[3]
Notes
- Prior to the events of the Stormrage novel, Malfurion Stormrage appeared to be an unwaking, as he was trapped in the Emerald Dream by the effect of the nightmare,[4] as was Naralex in the Wailing Caverns.[5]
