Description

I never thought it would come to this!

Leven went to face Warlord Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter at the top of the palace steps, but our reinforcements cannot get through!

We are the only ones who stand between him and the Vale's greatest... and most deadly... powers.

Please, <name>, you must find a way to stop him!

(Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter: "The leader of the Shao-Tien mogu.")

With your help, we have saved the Vale from a terrible enemy.

Today, we dealt a painful blow to the mogu. They will never stop their attempts to sieze the Vale, but it will be a long time before they try a full scale attack again.

Notes

During this quest, all the NPCs at the Shrine of Two Moons and Shrine of Seven Stars will be phased out for the duration of this quest.

Throwing the spear at Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter will perform a soft save of the encounter; should you die, the damage you've done to him up through your last spear cast will remain on him, though any you have done through normal means since that point will be restored. Also note that you will not be able to return to the platform by the front steps from the graveyard; you must use the side steps close to the mountainside on either side of the palace.

On accept:

Chi-Ji provides the adventurer with Wings of Hope: "Chi-Ji's protective wings allow you to jump much higher and farther than normal." Run up the steps, stopping at a flame wall:

Jaluu the Generous says: <Name>, with the crane's powers, you can jump over the flames!

Zhao-Jin is on the other side of the flame wall, being tanked by Leven. Zhao has 13,787,000 health and the following abilities:

  • Lightning Spear 60 yd range — 2 sec cast.
Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter yells: My spear will finish you!
Leven Dawnblade says: Pick up those spears before they overload! Throw them back at him!

Zhao-Jin will throw a spear on the ground to either side of him. If it stays on the ground for too long, it will overload:

  • Overload 100 yd range — After charging up, does 92,500 to 107,500 Nature damage to any enemies within 100 yards. 15 sec cast

Pick up the spear before the 15 sec cast is complete. While holding the spear, the player is Grounded for 15 sec. Use the bonus action button to toss it back his way:

  • Hurl Spear 100 yd range — Hurl Zhao-Jin's spear back at him, dealing 5% of his health as Nature damage. 0.5 sec cast. Hits for ~700,000 on Zhao-Jin.

He also has a Lightning Wave ability:

  • Lightning Wave 20 yd range — Instant. Hits for ~33,000-37,000 Nature 10 times a second.
Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter yells: Cower at the sight of your own doom!

Jump over it, as it hits very, very hard. Otherwise, let Leven tank and nuke Zhao-Jin when not dealing with the lightning walls or the spears.

Leven Dawnblade says: <Name>, you've done it!

Return to the Golden Pagoda to turn in.

Completing the quest is the "Welcome Home" criterion of the achievement  [Eternally in the Vale].

On complete:

Anji Autumnlight says: With the Celestials' aid, we tore through the mogu advance. Our soldiers were able to clean up the rest, and drive them from the valley.
Leven walks up.
Ren Firetongue says: Leven! You're alive! That must mean...
Leven Dawnblade says: Yes, thanks to <name>. Zhao-Jin, leader of the Shao-Tien, is slain!
Leven Dawnblade says: Our war against the mogu is not yet over. But today we can rest, and proclaim our victory.
Leven Dawnblade yells: All hail <name>, savior of the Vale! Conqueror of the Shao-Tien, and defender of the people! May the stars sing your name!
Fireworks go off everywhere around the pagoda.
