Elitist Jerks

I gleam a lot of information from this Elitist Jerks, so I created an icon. Image:Icon-elitist-jerks-22x22.png It might be good at add to site icons? -Howbizr (talk) 04:43, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Please do. Also add the icon to Template:Elink/doc and WoWWiki:List of mini icons to advertise its availability.
It should already work as follows:
Example
  • {{elink|icon=elitist-jerks|site=Elitist Jerks|link=http://elitistjerks.com}}
Output

--Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contr) 6:43 PM PST 13 Mar 2009

Added icon to list on Template:Elink/doc. --Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contr) 1:09 PM PST 19 Mar 2009
For historical purposes, http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/archive/9/95/20090514214408!Icon-elitistjerks-22x22.png was the icon I added, altho it got merged into oblivion. -Howbizr (talk) 02:49, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Why does this template use <div>?

Using <div> makes it always have a linebreak at the beginning. Could we make it use <span> and have the linebreaks on by default, but with the disabling by using a parameter? --Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contr) 6:45 PM PST 13 Mar 2009

Possible error somewhere

Don't you love how specific I am? Looking through the "wanted pages" section, I saw that several pages have links to the non-existant Image:Icon--22x22.png, which seems to be called by this template. I think it happens if there is no type parameter specified, but I am not absolutely sure. A few of the pages that look for the missing file are Deathwing, Gruul the Dragonkiller and Act. -- Wige (Talk - Contribs) 15:29, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

I think people are using the template wrong. If icon or type are not present the template falls back to a default value. However, at leat on Act, the template call had BOTH args, and they are blank. When the blank args are removed, the reference to that image goes away. User:Tekkub/Sig 19:12, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

New fansite icon

I updated the doc to include WoW BlueTracker, but I don't have access to the template since it's protected. -Howbizr (talk) 03:02, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

If anyone wants to use it before it's added to the template, do:
{{elink|icon=wowbluetracker|site=WoW BlueTracker|link=http://blue.cardplace.com}}

Site icons

Any talented individuals want to create/find icons for WoW Korea and WoW China (the9? not sure what the URL is)? /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 4:43 PM, 3 Aug 2009 (EDT)

Tokyopop icon request

Could someone make an icon for TokyoPop, the publishers of all the manga? Their official icon is this one. Cut the antenna a bit and that would be all. Thanks! :P--Lon-ami (talk) 21:03, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

Classic Battle.net icon request

This one [1] would be fine (the one that appears with the page title, the sword with the axe). Someone make it, please :).--Lon-ami (talk) 15:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

WowInsider is defunct

Please update WowInsider. AOL closed WowInsider in February (source) and its assets (articles) are archived as part of Engadget. The staff that was let go formed the website's successor, BlizzardWatch, later that month. I suggest that references become "WowInsider (archive)" and BlizzardWatch added here and to the external links of pages that reference WowInsider (see Lore as one location). Official

Every Blizzard icon (including bnet, blizzcon, etc.) should have its own type parameter. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 19:41, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Once again, feel free to tell me when you've done the icons so I can unlock the template Xporc (talk) 09:37, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
The icons are done, uploaded new ones the bnet and the blizzcon, just a matter of signing those to type parameters. Would be helpful as those are some of the main ones (especially on Blizzard Entertainment related articles such as the Blizzard app) — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 17:29, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
Okay, I unlocked the template! Xporc (talk) 17:34, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
All done! Thanks! — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 02:07, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
No problem. Xporc (talk) 07:33, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Linking to other Gamepedia wikis

We should take advantage of the interwiki links we have setup for other Blizzard IPs on Gamepedia instead of using external links:

  • diablo - Diablo
  • hots - Heroes of the Storm
  • hswiki - Hearthstone
  • overwatch - Overwatch

--IconSmall Wildkin.gif Alianin T C 15:58, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Oh, so does this mean that the gamepedia template is more or less baseline like this? PeterWind (talk) 16:33, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
Not just the {{Gamepedia}} template, but including {{Overwatch}}, {{Hearth}}, and {{StarCraft}} that I created not long ago. I think it'd be best to implement this into the Elink instead of multiple templates for such matter. Maybe a separate one like how overtime new ones like {{Elinks-NPC/pet}} are created. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 19:40, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Socal Media

The icons such as Facebook and the newly added Twitch icon should have a type parameter. Thanks! — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 13:23, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Generic icons

Anyone against removing functionality for those generic icons (the first gallery list on the doc)? — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 18:37, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

I don't think I've ever seen them used, and I'm struggling to think of a situation in which they ever would be. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:47, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
The only one that is actually used would be the external/globe image which is the default with the template. Unlike some of those icons, this one particularly isn't used by the MediaWiki namespace and it would be easy to move it to the ElinkIcon-name.png format. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 18:52, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
Removed them. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 04:34, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
