Quotes

The horsehand goes through a looping, scripted sequence which takes roughly 10 minutes from beginning to end. Upon entering the stable, he walks up to one of the Tarren Mill Horses and says one of the following:

  • Bessy is a hungry girl today, isn't she? Let me go get you an apple.
  • Poor Bessy, cooped up in this barn on such a hot day. Let me get a snack for you!
  • Why hullo there, Bessy. Its[sic] your turn for a walk today, isn't it?

He then walks out to the northern end of the orchard to one of the Tarren Mill Peasants roaming near some apple buckets, and says one of the following:

  • Good day, Benjamin! Would you mind if I took an apple for Bessy?
  • Hullo there, Benjamin! Mind if I snack an apple for Old Bessy?

Which is followed by:

Tarren Mill Peasant says: Sure, go ahead and take one, there's plenty for all!
Tarren Mill Horsehand grabs an apple from the tree.
Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Thanks, Benjamin!

The horsehand then walks to the eastern side of the orchard, where another Tarren Mill Peasant is working on a broken wagon, and says one of the following:

  • Such an old wagon, no wonder it broke down on you, Samuel.
  • That wagon break down on you again, Samuel?

Followed by:

Tarren Mill Peasant says: Aye, its[sic] still broken. Can't afford to buy a new one though.
Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll be by again later if you want a hand.
The horsehand taking Old Bessy for a walk.

The horsehand walks back to the stable. Upon entering:

Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Well, Bessy will enjoy this little snack.
He walks up to Bessy.
Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Here, Bessy, enjoy this apple while I get you ready.
Tarren Mill Horsehand feeds Bessy the bright red apple.
Young Blanchy stomps her foot jealously.

In response, the horsehand tells Blanchy one of the following:

  • Aww, Blanchy, don't worry, my brother in Westfall will take good care of you. I hear he's got a beautiful farm with lots of space for you to roam.
  • Now, now, Blanchy. Don't be jealous, you'll be going on a big adventure of your own, soon.
  • Whoa, there, Blanchy, you can't be having any apples today. Tomorrow, we'll be taking you down to Southshore, where you'll take a boat way across the seas.

The horsehand then leads Bessy out of the stable.

Alright Bessy, let's get 'cha out for a walk here. Hut, hut!

The horsehand and horse proceed to walk clockwise around the entirety of Tarren Mill, a trip which takes around 4 minutes and 30 seconds in total. Upon returning to the stable, Bessy walks back into her pen while the horsehand heads back out.

Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Good girl, Bessy!
Bessy whinneys[sic] happily.

The horsehand proceeds to go on another walk around Tarren Mill, this time in the opposite direction. Along the way, he stops to talk with the Tarren Mill Peasant working on the wagon again:

Tarren Mill Horsehand says: Any luck, Samuel?
Tarren Mill Peasant says: Nay, its[sic] still broken. No luck at all, I suppose.

After circling the town, he walks back into the stable and starts the sequence over from the beginning.
