Cenarius: Prominent or Example?

My understanding was that Cenarius was used as an example of a character who had been into the Ardenweald section of the Shadowlands over playing a role in the expansion. Case in point the Recap mentioned how Cenarius recovered there until his resurrection in Cataclysm over actually being in the zone like they did with Kael'thas Sunstrider.--X59 (talk)
