Voljin's roll

Just to be clear, they talked about how Vol'jin will be apart in all this; Thrall carries his ashes (see the World of Warcraft - What's Next panel, they talk about it), some assumptions (with how Trolls work in my opinion) is that further in the story, his spirit will be a part of this in some way. I could also expect to learn about his past as well. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 23:00, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

See here for a overview of the what's next panel on World of Warcraft. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 23:03, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Ok, that makes absolutely zero sense. But, I'll go with it. : – User:CaptDeadeyeMC (talk) 18:05, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

Watch the panel, you'll get it later. I added assumptions about how he will take part while Blizzard only talk about his ashes being involved, with Thrall carrying it. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 23:07, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Vol'jin was listed here [1] The pic is missing an urn on Thrall's shoulder with Vol'jin's name. They showed it for few seconds, so I think it counts him being among the main characters. --Mordecay (talk) 23:11, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Correct. They also said during the Q&A that his story will be continued. Maybe Bwonsamdi brings Vol'jin back, who knows. Loa Vol'jin ? "As Horde players journey through Zandalar and commune with ancient troll Loa spirits, they may gain new insight into the fate of Vol’jin, fallen warchief of the Horde." -- MyMindWontQuiet 18:42, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Ok, whoever replaced Vol'jin's face with an urn. That is freaking hilarious. --CaptDeadeyeMC (talk) 06:53, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

It's genius! :D --Mordecay (talk) 11:57, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
Came here because of that. It's great - and yet, poor ol' Vol'jin. Dajax02 (talk) 17:16, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
It was me and Vol'jin on twitter noticed.

Conflict name

Do you guys think the war will be known as "Battle for Azeroth" too? Or Fourth War? I'm asking because I'm seeing some users like Ryon21 starting to use it as a "canon" name in the Human and Seven Kingdoms pages. Xporc (talk) 14:13, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

Technically this is the continuation of the Alliance-Horde war, which wasn't known as the Fourth War and whose outcome was a truce, not a full peace treaty. I really really would advise not calling the BfA conflict the Fourth War in the absence of an official source, however. At this point, honestly, I'm not sure even Blizzard knows or cares. I think Battle for Azeroth is a fine conjectural name, even though it's technically a war and not a battle; the few inbound links can just be pointed directly to the expansion article instead. - Linneris (talk) 14:27, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
The events of Battle of Azeroth should be called Battle for Azeroth. We can't use "Fourth War" because we don't know if that is even a thing yet or not. -- MyMindWontQuiet 16:30, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
Maybe Battle for Azeroth (event), like Cataclysm (event)? If we just use the Battle for Azeroth name people will constantly link to it when wanting to talk about the expansion pack. Xporc (talk) 16:32, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
I guess it depends on the wording (ideally you would want to word it similarly to "During the events of Legion..." in which case there's no issue, it's clearly referring to the expansion), but yeah maybe ! Like we have Third invasion of the Burning Legion, though Blizzard might give us a real name later, this time. -- MyMindWontQuiet 18:56, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

I just saw this now. I used the name because I didn't any other at that time. But I think it will be the Fourth War for how things are going. But we'll see. --Ryon21 (talk) 20:18, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Launch

So, Wowhead page says that BfA will launch this summer: http://www.wowhead.com/news=281270/world-of-warcraft-battle-for-azeroth-now-available-for-pre-purchase

It is enough confirmation or we need Blizzard's own words? --Ryon21 (talk) 20:14, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Yeah it seems https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/world-of-warcraft-battle-for-azeroth (answering myself, yay!) --Ryon21 (talk) 20:23, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Pre-order page says "on or before September 21", BFA website says "this summer". Legion too had the same release date, but then it launched on August 30.-- MyMindWontQuiet 23:24, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
