More importantly, G'Hanir wasn't part of the world of Azeroth. It didn't exist on the Primal Plane, per se, but was connected to it in a similar fashion as the Emerald Dream. NocturnalAbyss (talk) 08:02, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

We will indeed! A questline regarding the tree stump's current residents describes how the furbolg dwelling therein have used the former world tree to raise one of the ancients! His own father, Ursoc! In the son's own words, "For centuries, the furbolg who worshipped him devised a way to resurrect him. Finally they decided to regrow the failed world tree, Vordrassil, and use its magic to bring back my father. The sapling they grew bore a fruit. At first it seemed to work. Ursoc did come back.." Unfortunately, the same thing that caused the elves to destroy Vordrassil has corrupted Ursoc. He elaborates once you have killed him, thus freeing his spirit: "Spirit of Ursoc says: I thank you all. The druids of old were wise to tear down Vordrassil, for its roots seep deep into the dwelling of an ancient evil. You know their kind as Old Gods. Beware Yogg-Saron, the beast with a thousand maws. How does it all fit together?

We know the timeline and reasons for the first two World Trees we've encountered. What for us is the original tree, Nordrassil, was planted within the second Well of Eternity created by Illidan after the Sundering in hopes of controlling access to it, as well as using its powers to ensure life and regrowth to the broken world. At its creation, the three Dragon Aspects known as Alexstrasza, Ysera, and Nozdormu blessed the tree, binding it with the essences of the Night Elves.

During the Third War, Archimonde attacked Nordrassil, and the tree was badly damaged, to the point where the Night Elves immortality was withdrawn. In efforts to recapture this immortality, A band of Kaldorian druids decided to create a new World Tree, resulting in the creation of Teldrassil, however, the dragons were appalled by the selfishness of this act, and so did not bless this new world tree.

Now, my question, how does Vordrassil fit into all of this? Its on the continent of Northrend, a land that, to our knowledge, was only inhabited by elves before the Sundering, if even then, as what references we have tell us that even then the land was prodominantly considered a frozen waste (references regarding the orgins of the ice trolls and the Nerubians). One possibility is that a contingent of druids found explored out a bit and found Northrend, and decided to create a world tree there in the hopes that its powers would bring life to the more desolate parts of the frozen continent. There's also an Emerald Dream portal in Crystalsong Forest through which they might have come. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 07:00, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

In some ways, this just causes more problems. Does it truly take so few druids to create a world tree? Furthermore, was this tree, also, created without the blessing of the Dragon Aspects? Perhaps this dialogue should be opened up as to what exactly constitutes a world tree. We know Nordrassil was created by placing the seed of the Mother Tree, G'Hanir, within a Well of Eternity, and then blessed by three different Dragon Aspects.

Teldrassil was created through a joint effort of the druids who followed Fandral Staghelm, as well as the Circle of Ancients. We know that this tree was not blessed by the Dragon Aspects, but we don't know if Well of Eternity water (maybe through use of a moonwell) was involved, or even a seed from G'Hanir, or at least Nordrassil was involved. Based purely on the magical might required to create a World Tree (The Re-created Well of Eternity, druidic magic, and the blessings of 3 Aspects for Nordrassil, and the combined druidic might of the Circle of Ancients and a decent amount of the most powerful Night Elf druids for Teldrassil), it makes Voldrasiil's appearence in Northrend even more mysterious!
