I have uploaded all the images on this site that now appear only as links. They are saved as Ss#.jgp from # 1-16. You can tell where they belong by the image #. I dont know how to make them fit better so I would ask someone who knows how should do this. example for image 3 put Image:Ss3.jpg —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WoWWiki-Psychonaut (talk · contr).

Timeline

When was the War of the Shifting Sands ?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Frejh (talk · contr).

EXACTLY!!! I've have been looking for ages now at various lore places... when the hell did this war happened? I mean shiromar remembers "all those years ago, during the War of the Shifting Sands..." which mean it happened maybe hundreds or thousands of years before the present time. HOWEVER, if infect it happened all those years ago, which means before the third war, how exactly are the druids able to "...the druids healing and casting..." I mean a few years ago they they were sleeping in the emerald dream, not to talk about: "Fandral led his forces... into the bowl of Un'Goro Crater... The Arch-Druid gathered the remaining troops in the bowl's center..." Fandral became arch-druid only a few years ago... not "All those years ago".

can somebody answer that?

I have found the answer: at the official world of warcraft the burning crussade site, there's a new article [1] about what happened in the 2 years after the founding of durotar (the ending campaign of warcraft 3 the frozen throne). There it is said:

"Throughout Silithus, insect swarms surged as if guided by some malignant, ancient intelligence. Behind the gates of the Scarab Wall the merciless qiraji stirred once again. Empowered by the Old God C'Thun, the qiraji prepared their legions for a worldwide assault to avenge their bitter defeat at the hands of the night elves a thousand years ago."

And yet again blizzard retcons evrything and changes the acnoleged fact that the druids were sleeping untill 2 years ago, and that Malfurion was the arch-druid in that time and not Fendral. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WoWWiki-Blade7 (talk · contr).

Well, the reference to him as archdruid could be a simple anachronism, like saying "The Prime Minister spent his childhood in this house on Oak Street." The narrator is referring to the person that the reader knows as Archdruid Staghelm, regardless of whether he posessed that title during the events described. As for the druids' hibernation, they have been awake for other events between the creation of Nordrassil and the Third War, such as the rebellion of the Highborne. These are rather minor points; nothing that I would consider a conflict or retcon.--Aeleas 15:58, 19 September 2006 (EDT)

You could have been right about the arch-druid thing if only there wasn't a reference to staghelm as the night elfish leader "Fandral led his forces...", since on top of all the druid sleeping issue and the arch-druid issue, Tyrande leads the night elf forces, and not fandral, adleast not 1,000 years ago when he spouses to be asleep. So it is strange that no Tyrande nor Malfurion are mentioned in the story. These are not minor conflicts, and there are lots of them in warcraft, since blizzard changes so much in lore and history so it could all fit to her wishes for that current moment. What I would have considered a small unimportant issue is the High elven druids runestone, and The Mother of Cenarius issue, now these are small issues which are explainable and forgivable, but fandral awake and leading the night elves 1000 years ago as the arch-druid... thats not a change? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WoWWiki-Blade7 (talk · contr).

Fandral was clearly the leader of the night elf forces in the War, but I don't see how that is a conflict either. He's been a high-ranking druid for millenia, and leading the war in Silithus doesn't mean he was leader of the night elves as a whole.--Aeleas 12:07, 28 September 2006 (EDT)

Yes but he wasn't arch-druid, and shiromar remembers him as 1, and the absence of Tyrande and especially Malfurion is very strange for me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WoWWiki-Blade7 (talk · contr).

Edited the section "The War" for grammar and punctuation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sagadis (talk · contr).

I don't see any edits made by your, nor a section called "The War." What did you edit? -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:10, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
There seems to be a wrong redirect for War of the Shifting Sands talk page. --Mordecay (talk) 19:17, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
