Name

I've not been on the 3.3 PTR, but I've seen the numerous name change.

And I'm wondering if the achievement icon name is wrong or the boss name is going to change again?

Why

...does the Scourge experiment on a green dragon? Has Blizzard said anything about it yet? What, exactly, is the connection between the Lich King and the Nightmare? INV Misc Orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 20:42, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

You're overthinking this. It's far more likely to be general draconic experimentation for the purpose of making undead dragons. They did the same think with black whelps in Scholomance. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:47, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
Well, first, this is one of the last bosses in the expansion pack's final instance. It's got to have some significance. Second, one of her abilities is "Summon Nightmare Portal". Yes, I know I'm probably just a crazed conspiracy theorist. INV Misc Orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 21:59, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
This is kind of a shot in the dark and this isn't a forum and all that, but maybe the Lich King's trying to send a little bit of the Scourge into the Emerald Dream to do a number on its inhabitants? --Super Bhaal (talk) 22:50, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

Aggro

The Lich King has a yell at the start of Valithria's fight, I don't remember it exactly, but I think it went something like "Intruders have breached the inner sanctum! Hasten the destruction of the green dragon, leave only bones and sinew for reanimation." If someone could check and add it to the article, it is yelled before Valithria calls for aid from the raid.--Saphiredragon89 (talk) 04:28, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Moved

I don't get the reason for splitting the page on this particular character. This page contains nothing that the tactics page doesn't, except that she's sometimes a questgiver. Beyond that, I don't think she really has enough lore behind her to warrant a separate page. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:10, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Because of the quest she gives I think it would be inappropriate to place her quest info on a boss fight page. That was my main reason. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:18, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure there are other bosses in similar positions without split pages. Algalon even has a whole questline outlined in his page. I don't see anything wrong with adding a single "she sometimes starts a quest" line to the tactics page and merging them back; it seems a little silly to have a split for the sake of a single quest. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:37, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, but that questchain explains how to get to Algalon, not what Algalon starts and finishes. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 04:10, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
Still, we're separating out the pages for the sake of a single quest. Even her character biography (which the disambig says this is) is literally just one sentence long. The rest all talks about the quest she sometimes starts. I see no reason not to merge pages. For a similar situation, see Prince Tortheldrin who goes from a friendly NPC to a boss, with all of the associated NPC dialogue and speculation on the same page. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:31, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
Since pages are being merged of other characters, I gave this more thought... and I agree, it would make it less confusing to have all the info on one page. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:19, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
As for now after 10 years from last talk about it . I see a reason as she now has more lore rather ICC. even if small it is not tied to ICC .(Yuvalal (talk) 12:09, 26 June 2020 (UTC))

Heroic Difficulty

Something worth noting is probably that Valithria Dreamwalker takes damage dependent on the number of Nightmare Orbs/Seeds left standing in the Nightmare, thus Valithria will take literally 0 damage if all seeds are gathered. Starting groups with 3 healers will find this information very useful for planning a division of seeds in order to eliminate all of Valithria's incoming damage barring the pull. From a healer's PoV this causes the fight to essentially be exactly identical to non-heroic. Groups attempting to two heal her heroic mode will find the difficulty to be of greater challenge, obviously, unless the raid selects a DPS to gather seeds, taking the place of the 3rd healer; either method is possible. Also specifically being in the Nightmare deals no damage, as indicated. Furinaux (talk) 00:53, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
