Prison

So Tol Barad is sort of like Azkaban prison! XD --Anticrash 10:34, 9 Dec 2005 (EST)

Good point! Yes! They could use that as one of their 'pop culutre' references when they put it in WoW. --Xmuskrat 11:12, 9 Dec 2005 (EST)
Is this currently in the game? After I looked over some maps, the closest thing I could find is Purgation Isle (in Hillsbrad Foothills).
No its in warcraft 2, and the RPG. It will have to be added in a future expansionBaggins
I believe Tol Barad tilesets were added pretty recently into the common.MPQ file, meaning it could show up in an upcoming expansion, along with Northrend (although Tol Barad is more associated with the Great Sea). --Kulsprutejojjo 12:05, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Anyone know what the Horde did to the prisoners on the island when they destroyed it?

In the book Well of Eternity, on page 24 Krasus (Korialstasz) and Rhonin spend the night on an island in the Great Sea. Copy of text:
Korialstrasz settled down, allowing Rhonin to dismount. The wizard steppedjust far enogh fromhis companion to catch one last glimpse of the ruins before darkness engulfed them. "Something tragic happened here," Korialstrasz suddenly commented. "You sense it,too?"
Later, Rhonin is attacked by skeleton-like apparitions that took the form of his loved ones to lure him in. My point is: is this island Tol Barad? I mean, they say something tragic had happened there and the ruins were of a castle. I'm not sure what the monsters would be but they might be wraiths of the slaughtered human defenders. The book never said much more about it. Possible holes in the theory: Neither of them knew what island it was and you'd think Krasus would know as he is very knowledgeable and in Day of the Dragon, Rhoin briefly talked about Tol Barad on the flight to Grim Batol. (I have a very good memory ;)) -VariDaDreadlord 18:38, 3 March 2008 (UTC) VariDaDreadlord
If it wasn't for the fact that they compared the island to Tol Barod (meaning they were speaking in the sense that they were not at tol barod) it would almost certainly be. But because of what i just meantioned we know it isn't. Also the island is desribed as being somewhere halfway between the eastern kingdoms and Kalimdor, near the Maelstrom. So unless there was some major reshuffling and retcons it can't be Tol Barod.Warthok Talk Contribs 18:48, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
They passed over Tol Barod in Day of the Dragon, from the air Rhonin could feel the aura of death and dispair than lingered there. I'm pretty sure the island in WotA was meant to be Suramar, it fits the location and has a record of undead creatures being there after it was raised fromt the sea floor in during the second war.Tweak the Whacked 08:18, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Kingdom

According to this article, and the Alliance of Lordaeron article, Tol Barad was a kingdom but was conquered by Stromgarde shortly before the war. So did we in fact have 8 kingdoms? and with the way Stromgarde wanted to annex part of Alterac after its destruction and the way that everyone was surprised in Tides of Darkness when Terenas said he would restore Varian to the throne of Stormwind, while people expected him to claim it for himself, I'm starting to think there were a lot of kingdoms that was never mentioned, they was just slowly assimilated into the bigger kingdoms in the time before the Second War? -Rovdyr (talk) 13:34, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

It's depicted here in an early map (as in version 1 developtment) with Stromgarde sized footprint [1] --Drolfeir (talk) 06:40, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Location

Where is exatcly Tol Barad now? A lot of maps show it between the Wetlands and Hillsbrad Foothills (like this, this and this), but the current Eastern Kingdoms map place it west of Gilneas (and in this case it's hard to consider it still part ok Khaz Modan). Thanks, --Forco (talk) 08:49, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

I guess WoW holds the truth so it's offshore Gilneas (for now)

The cataclysm caused it to shift over there... actually I'm sure it has to do with space or the lack there of for where it should be. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 09:28, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. But since now it's far away from the shores of Khaz Modan, it can be still considered part of it, or it should be rather part of Lordaeron or of the Great Sea? --Forco (talk) 19:28, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I'd say we go with what is written in the books, since the MMO does have limitations on size and placement. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:05, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Perfect! Thanks for everything :) --Forco (talk) 11:14, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Cleanup

I put all the current videos and screenshots in User:Hurax/Tol Barad, so that they won't be lost. As it is both sections are too large leaving other things missing. --Hurax (talk) 14:30, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Do you want suggestions? Perhaps a proper split between Tol Barad and Tol Barad Peninsula, and then the screenshots (which may be outdated) divided up between the subzones of both.--SWM2448 23:02, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Realm first TB battle

which faction defended/attacked then? was it randomly chosen or was there a world event that decided it? --Pryon (talk) 14:26, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure the first Tol Barad battle ever - just like the first battle when a server comes up from maintenance - is chosen randomly. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

RPG Tol Barad

(It's funny as Tol Barad is still listed in Baradin Bay in the WoW web: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/pvp/battlegrounds/tol-barad)

Main thing, I wanted to know if there is more information of Tol Barad in the RPG apart from the paragraph we have in the page. Or that is everything? Thanks in advance! --Ryon21 (talk) 02:45, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

No, there are two paragraphs. One is about the subzone of Kul Tiras, the other is about a potential prison break.--SWM2448 03:15, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for it! --Ryon21 (talk) 03:17, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
