Talk:Thura

Since Thura is referred to as Broxigar's niece, does that mean that she is Varok's daughter and Dranosh's sister? I make this assumption because neither Brox nor Varok ever reference any other siblings besides each other.--AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 23:05, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Though her father isn't named (at least in the excerpt on the WoW site), it explicitly says that he's not Varok:
"She was, after all, the only left of Brox's kin save for her sole remaining uncle, Saurfang the Elder, who had himself recently lost his son in battle." -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:49, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Broxigar's Battleaxe

I just want to point out a couple of discrepancies with Brox's Axe and how it ended up with Thura.

1) Wasn't his magical axe last seen on the other side of the Well of Eternity stuck rather deep into the thigh of Sargeras the Fallen Titan? So how did it end up back on Azeroth in Thrall's possession?

2) Isn't High Overlord Varok Saurfang or in the least his son more worthy to wiled the axe, not some second rate niece no one's every heard about before? On an off topic, the events at Angrathar the Wrath Gate might have turned out for the better if Dranosh was wielding his uncle's legendary magic battle axe?

I'm looking forward to hearing your responses.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 23:29, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

The first question as answered at the end of the War of the Ancients trilogy: the axe was found after the battle, and Korialstrasz presented it to Thrall and told him of Broxigar's heroism. The second question is answered in the excerpt on the WoW site: Thrall's most trusted shaman had a vision that it was meant to go to Thura. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:40, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Infobox image

Should we really consider an image from the Wowhead model viewer to be a suitable infobox image for a character who never even actually appears in WoW? As the NPC is only found in the database and never shows up in-game, wouldn't a model viewer image of her technically fall under "datamined images", which is against Project:DNP and or Project:IMP? -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 13:56, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

I agree that this is kinda awkward to have an image from the wowhead model viewer in the infobox, but I also think the picture should be kept somewhere on the page even if not in the infobox itself. IMO the policies are made against people datamining content from future patches and extension packs, while in this case it's a picture from cut content, which isn't the same thing. We have plenty of trivia on this wiki telling about cut content ... Xporc (talk) 14:14, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
I'm somewhat on the fence about this subject, but suppose just having an image of her Wowhead model in a trivia section wouldn't hurt, but I just think we shouldn't treat model viewer images of NPCs that only exist in the database as official depictions of those characters, since the content involving them never went live and is thus, in a way, non-canon. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 13:07, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Agreed. What do you think of this edit? Xporc (talk) 13:29, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, I think that works a lot better, IMHO. (Sorry for not replying earlier, I don't have this page on my watchlist.) -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 18:59, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
