Summary?

Perhaps we should have a summary of all the things you need to get the Charger a la the Tier 0.5 article. RobertM525 16:25, 14 August 2006 (EDT)

Blood Elf Quest?

The beta forums contain a list of the mats and quest for the Blood Elf version, should it be posted as potentially accurate information? Alik 10:18, 10 January 2007 (EDT)

Sure, just put it in a separate "Horde" section and state that it's based upon beta information. RobertM525 01:10, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Gear

Is there a way to get the horses without all their armor on?  IconSmall HighElf Male.gif Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 03:04, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

No, there are regular horses though.--SWM2448 02:09, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Pally trainers give Charger now

Apparently, as of 3.0, pally trainers will sell Summon Charger to level 61's with [Summon Warhorse] and Journeyman Riding. So you can skip the quest chain, pay ~500g for the riding training, and 20g for the Summon Charger spell. --Blasterman (talk) 05:47, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Scope of the page

The Alliance ability is called "Charger"; the Horde ability is [Summon Charger]; both mounts are loosely called Chargers. Should this page be about both the Alliance paladin ability, and the horse in general? Or should there be a Charger page about the mount in general, with the Alliance ability split out into say Charger (ability). Right now it's confusing what belongs on this page. The comparison between Horde & Alliance chargers is useful but doesn't belong here if this page is only about the Alliance ability. Looking for feedback. -- Harveydrone 00:40, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I'd like confirmation that the Horde ability is indeed differently named than the alliance ability. (Have you done that, Harvey?) Personally, I think the user would be better served, as you suggest, by the combined Charger page, with Charger (ability) and Summon Charger (assuming it IS different) referring to the faction specific aspects. ... And some day, Quest Chain pages for both (or each independently) ala Swift Flight Form. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Verified on wowhead and in-game: Alliance paladins learn an ability (and while riding, gain a buff) called "Charger", while the blood elf ability (and buff) is called "Summon Charger". External links are on the wowwiki ability pages. By the way, the blood elf one is also referred to as a "Thalassian charger", FWIW. -- Harveydrone 03:37, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

The Quest

Is this quest still completable in game and do you have to refrain from learning the Charger ability prior to it? I know the similar warlock quest, prior to the patch making them available at 40, was still completable and still awarded the feat of strength. But I do not know if you have to refrain from training the ability prior since I had not on my warlock so it was a non-issue.  VainaVainamoinenJust ask! What have I been up to? 16:50, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Combine with 'Summon Charger' article?

Can we combine this with the Summon Charger article? The ability is now called [Summon Charger] for Humans and Dwarfs as well as Blood elves, and the quest chains have no more than historical significance. Both articles already mention the differences between the Alliance and horde mounts. GolanTrevize (talk) 23:46, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Makes sense to me. Done. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:09, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
