Capitalization
In IGN's Chronicle preview, every instance of the name spells it "Sporemound", not "sporemound". This is in clear and apparently deliberate contrast to races like ogres or orcs, which are never capitalized unless at the start of a sentence. Is it different in the actual, final version of the book? I don't have it myself yet. --

- All occurrences are capitalized. 95% of races are not capitalized; some, such as Sporemounds, Broken and Lost Ones, are, tho. --Mordecay (talk) 11:43, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- There are other occurences of Broken and Lost Ones not being capitalized in-game. I believe there was a discussion on wowpedia whether we should capitalize race names or not and the conclusion was that given Blizzard's inconsistency all around the place, we shouldn't. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 12:03, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

- Here. From what I've seen, the Sporemounds clearly seem to be a special case, though, since, as I said, all other races are written in lower-case in the Chronicle text, but Blizzard seems to want to make a distinction with the Sporemounds for whatever reason, so in this case I would say we should adhere to the capitalization used in the book. It's similar to the Old God case; "old god" is basically never officially used, with the exception of one or two obscure sources. --

- I don't know, I like consistency and it'd be weird for the Sporemounds to be the only race in the entirety of wow to get to have their name capitallized. Because Old Gods is also occasionally spelled old gods in in-game quests. I'd also add that the fact they were mentioned in one piece of work only, Volume 2, doesn't help. But if it were just me I would capitallize all race names. So as you see fit. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 13:08, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Well, Blizzard seems to have made an intentional stylistic choice to have the name "Sporemound" be capitalized while other race names are not.
