Talk:Skyscreamer

I feel like this page should be moved to "Pterrorwing", as it is used more often to refer to these beasts than "Skyscreamer" is. Besides, it sounds more like the name of a species than "Skyscreamer" does, goes along well with the naming for pterrordax as well, indicating that the two are related somehow.
I noticed that pterrordax have been called "pterrorwing/pterror wing" as well however that was back in Patch 5.0.4 before the skyscreamer model had come out in Patch 5.2. So it is possible that the Mogu'shan Vaults pterrordax are supposed to be skyscreamers. And both mentions are supposed to be the same NPC (although one is instanced and the other isn't) but not even the person that made those two NPCs could be consistent, lol. –WarGodZajru (talk) 15:55, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

And of course the number of mobs using the models are split in the middle in being called either pterrorwings or skyscreamers, not helping us at all Xporc (talk) 15:11, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
These guys are called thunderpterodactyl in the game files. Wouldn't these guys just be a subcategory of the pterrordax? — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 15:39, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Well, if Pterrorwing Skyscreamer is anything to go by, it appears "skyscreamer" is more of a synonym or even nickname while pterrorwing is the name of the species. Perhaps it's a species-unique trait that they're loud f**kers and thus are called skyscreamers in addition to pterrorwings which sounds more like a proper name.
And I wouldn't coin them in with the pterrordaxes, mainly because we don't know how they're related, how long either have existed without the other and because of the large difference in appearance. They're both pterosaurs of course, but pterrorwings aren't specifically pterrordaxes (like jungle trolls and forest trolls are both trolls but one isn't the other), at least that's how I understand it. –WarGodZajru (talk) 18:32, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
