Celestial Steed

The [Celestial Steed] adapts when summoned to match the users riding skill. Furthermore, if the owner of a Celestial Steed also owns a 310% speed flying mount, the Celestial Steed also becomes a 310% speed flying mount. However, if the owner of a Celestial Steed also owns a Sea Turtle, the Celestial Steed does not gain the Sea Turtle's swim speed bonus. This exception to the Celestial Steed effectively replacing the need to ever use another mount is notable for both the Steed and the Turtle. —MJBurrage(TC) 16:39, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

Normal mounts were never meant to replace water mounts. It's just common sense a riding mount (with wings) won't scale to the water, when it was never intentional. Now if other scalable mounts did adapt to the sea turtle fine, the comment can stay, but they don't. So singling out the celestial steed for the turtle is nonsense, when you have other mounts that scale and soon many more water mounts that will be introduced with Cataclysm. It's just plain an unnecessary comment. I'm going to remove it again, don't add it back. Now I don't care if you place the comment on  [Celestial Steed], but it's completely unnecessary here. Does my mount-agnostic comment meet your approval? I agree that Celestial Steed is just one scaleable mount out of several. And... do we have a separate page somewhere for scaleable mounts? I don't see a section called out on Mount. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:15, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
I guess... but if we can (if it's not done already) have a small section on mount that talks about scalable mounts and using that note you inserted... cause I'd rather not have to have each and every water mount contain that comment. 1) How many scalable mounts are there? 2) How many of them can scale up to 310% flight speed? 3) Do any of them give a swim speed bonus? —MJBurrage(TC) 05:06, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
Let's see, I count... The X-53 Rocket, the Celestial Steed, the Big Love Rocket, and the Horseman's Steed. The X-53 and Celestial Steed definitely scale to 310%, not sure on the others. None of them have a swim speed, probably in part due to the fact that flying mounts vanish when you enter the water. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:11, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
I can't comment on the other scalable mounts, but the Celestial Steed can swim—albeit without a speed bonus—if mounted while swimming or in a non-flying zone. —MJBurrage(TC) 05:21, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
@Coobra - when more water mounts come out, the appropriate place for the note would be the page/section about them. I'm happy with that. @MJBurrage/Dark - add the Magic Brooms to scaleable mounts, and possibly the Zephra (sp?) Recruit-a-friend mount. As well, the reindeer mount transformation is as well, in a way. The horseman's Steed seems like it would be in a similar position to the celestial re swimming. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:40, April 28, 2010 (UTC)

Also in Pandaria.

Was questing in Jade Forrest and managed to fish one up there. So might have to update to show this. The Alchemic Warrior of Travels (talk) 17:58, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
