Talk:Scalecommander Cindrethresh

Is Cindrethresh erroneously referred to using masculine pronouns, or is it intentional? There's nothing indicating that it was a mistake. When citation is complete and documentation is made of the dialogues in the party, it clearly shows that Viridia uses 'he' for this character. This follows with the story of being comfortable in the new body, and would be strange for this to be a mistake. I can update it if/when we get documentation of all the party dialogues. yeah, i’m wary of using wording like “erroneous” for stuff like this. it feels like we’re deciding that one pronoun usage is more correct than the other. if cindrethresh is referred to with different pronouns by different quests, and/or if newer quests have switched to consistently use “he,” we should state those things neutrally (and in the latter case probably switch the language we use throughout the article) —Eithris (talk) 16:05, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

For now, I think 'they' is proper for even this small trivia part, because it's isn't saying 'he' or 'she' is correct. If we get more in-game dialogue confirming new pronouns, then the article should be updated, but for now I'm containing this to the specific trivia snippet. We'll see in the future if this is error or not, but I sincerely don't think it is. That being said, I'm stating it as neutrally as possible, and opinion on it should not be kept up, as we simply don't have enough evidence to say it's in error or not. The party after Amirdrassil blooms has Cinderthresh showing off their visage to Viridia for the first time, and talks about how her reaction was a big hug. Viridia's gossip text uses He/Him for Cinderthresh. It's very much scene of an LGBT+ person coming out to an old friend.
