Considering that she did not get killed by him afterall, can someone confirm that her dialogue was not changed?

I disagree. "Duke Vallenhal took the place of Orbaz Bloodbane who was at the Ruby Dragonshrine at some early point in the alpha/beta."

If he simply left, why did Blizzard spend time inserting someone else to replace him?

The problem is that you're making an assumption contrary to established facts based solely on the location of two NPCs. Dahlia says Orbaz Bloodbane killed her. Thus, he is the one who killed her.
