Was he ever a pilot? He is wearing what looks to be pilot's headgear.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:13, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Scroll down, "In Warcraft Adventures, after the Second War, Gazlowe would have been an ally of Thrall, and helped him travel around the Eastern Kingdoms after his escape from the internment camp by fixing a zeppelin." User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Does that count as pilot or still just an engineer?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
If you are intending on changing the infobox, don't. Warcraft Adventures was never officially released, as such its story has little to no baring on present lore. What little can be gleaned from articles and screenshots from the game are often very different that what was later released as Lord of the Clans, or other later released info about the period.Baggins (talk) 03:30, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
And yeah, as Rolandius pointed out, fixing zeppelins is not the same thing as flying them. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk)
LOL No I am not intending to change the infobox. I was just wondering if he was ever a pilot and engineer or just an engineer.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:34, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Or do engineers wear that headgear too?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:34, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
As far as I know from production shots he was fixing his own zeppelin, and there was no other crew to fly it. I think they were going to make him the pilot of the zep. Once Thrall helped him fix the zep, then Gazlowe would be able to take him anywhere he wanted to go. One article described Gazlowe in the game would have been Thrall's "cabby" driver.Baggins (talk) 03:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, many engineers do wear goggles, look at most gnomes... but What I got from 'helped him travel around the Eastern Kingdoms' was that he piloted the zep after fixing it. EDIT: And what Baggins said. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:37, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
So I guess he was going to be a pilot/engineer. I know a lot of engineers wear goggles, but do they wear that headgear part too? The part on his head, although he hasn't tied the straps around his chin. Aren't goblins' inventions not that reliable anymore according to the goblin page? If I were Thrall I wouldn't want to go on a zepellin that needed "fixing".  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:44, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
So you'd rather stay in the internment camp and be abused then? User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 03:46, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I would do what Thrall did in Lord of the Clans.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 03:49, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
First of all, this is not a forum. Second of all, the game was aborted, and it is most likely that Gazlowe's appearance and nature have been changed. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:52, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Yet the image is still on the page.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 01:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
That's what we call posterity. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 01:49, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
You mean for historical archival reasons?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 01:56, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
It's because even though the events that would have taken place in the game never happened, that doesn't change the fact that it's still a picture of Gazlowe. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:16, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Its also the only official original artwork given for Gazlowe as far as I know, unless he's gotten a TCG card. Artwork is usually used in the infobox over generic ingame model use. I don't have my copy of Art of Warcraft, but I'm pretty sure this is the Gazlowe artwork that shows up in that book as well.Baggins (talk) 06:47, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Are you saying that for the infobox in the page that artwork takes precendence over screenshots or just over in-game models?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 09:01, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Unless it's a tactics page for a boss that has a separate lore page (i.e. Kael'thas, Magtheridon, etc) then yes, I believe that is generally the case. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 09:08, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Which one? Artwork takes precendence over in-game models or screenshots or both? I always remember hearing about screenshots were the best thing over artwork and in-game models for pages.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 09:13, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Our infobox order of precedence is: Cinematic shot, Good artwork, Good in-game screenie, bad screenie, bad/outdated artwork. Fanart and modelviewer images are never allowed. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

3-in-1?

"Although he is shown as a group of goblins in Warcraft 3, he is only one person." So Warcraft III wanted to confuse the player?  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 05:50, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

No, it's that there were no individual goblin units in Warcraft 3 (at the time; a couple of goblin hero units have been patched in since then). The only two goblin units were the zeppelin and the sapper. Since they couldn't use the zeppelin for obvious reasons, they went with the sapper despite the unit being a pair of goblins. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 07:29, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh so he is shown as 2 goblins but not 3. Ok.  Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 10:08, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Secure the Wells quest

There is trigger data in the Frozen Throne OrcX01*.w3x maps for an optional quest given by Gazlowe called "Secure the Wells" (located under Optional Quests D in the Trigger Editor), but as far as I can tell the triggers aren't actually reachable from any of the maps. Anyone know anything (beyond what can be gleaned from the quest description embedded in the Quest SecureWells Create trigger) about what this quest was meant to be, what its intended rewards were, and why Blizzard decided to eliminate it? Gazlowe and the Goblin Faction

I was just wondering how Gazlowe will relate to the new Goblin faction. I wouldn't be surprised if he would become their best ally, maybe even their racial leader, seeing he's one of the best known goblins around and not -really- linked to a faction like Baron Revilgaz. Also, the playable Goblins seem to lose their leader early on, due to him being a giant nobhead. So, is it possible for him to become related to this new Goblin faction or will he stubbornly cling to the Steamwheedle Cartel? Wolfstorm11 (talk) 11:39, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans quotes

Thrall comes near the Zeppelin and the goblin mumbles to himself.
Gazlowe: Ruptured Bleemseal. Soot in the pesculator. CORRODED SNAGASKET. There's gonna need a re-shank. FULL SEVEN-POINT HEMISTATIC RE-SHANK. AAAAAGH! Where'd I put that blasted samophlange? Where'd I put that BLASTED SAMO...
Turns around and sees Thrall.
Gazlowe: HEY! Watch where yer walkin'! You almost stepped on a very delicate piece of machinery! Well... are ya' gonna stand there lookin' stupid, or are ya' gonna' pass me that samophlange?
Thrall looks around and has no idea what to pick off the ground. He just grabbed the closest one to him and the goblin continued working. Thrall asks:
Thrall: What the hell is a samophlange?
Gazlowe: Not that your feeble orc mind would understand, but the samophlange is one of the most revolutionary tools ever invented by the goblins. Essentially, it's a high powered drill designed to attach the snabgasket to the bleemseal's intake values. Now leave me alone.
Thrall comments.
Thrall: What a bunch of junk!
Gazlowe: Listen, this "junk" is highly advanced, state of the art goblin machinery! I'm attempting to repair the zeppelin, so I need to catalogue all of its various engine parts.
Thrall: "Advanced machinery," huh? Looks like an "advanced mess" to me.
Thrall asks another question.
Thrall: Did you build this contraption?
Gazlowe: Yes, I did! In fact, I built this Zeppelin from scratch! She's one of the finest ships ever built! She flew over ten missions during the Second War!
Thrall: Well, why isn't "she" flying now?
Gazlowe: That's exactly what I've been trying to find out, isn't it?
Thrall: You don't seem to be making much progress.
Gazlowe: Not much progress? Well, let's see you figure it out!
Thrall points near the zeppelin on the ground.
Thrall: Maybe THAT fell off. It looks important.
Gazlowe: Fell off? FELL OFF!? Nothing just "falls off" a goblin Zeppelin! WHAT!? At least it's not one of those tinker-trap Flyers built by the Gnomes!
Thrall then asks about Gnomes.
Thrall: Tell me more about Gnomes, Goblin.
Gazlowe: Small, hairy, bloated, and totally incompetent...What else do you need to know?
Thrall: I mean, why do you hate them so much?
Gazlowe: Because the goblins and the gnomes are at war! We strive to out-invent each other by developing bold new mechanical innovations...but us goblins are way ahead of them.
Thrall: Really?
Gazlowe: Yeah! In fact, I was on my way to a secret gnomish workshop to steal their latest plans for a revolutionary communication device. But...ah...as you can see, I've been having some problems with transportation.
Thrall: Hmm...I'll make a deal with you...ah...
Gazlowe: Gazlowe!
Thrall: Yeah, uh...Gazlowe. I will steal the plans from the gnomes while you fix your Zeppelin. Then...
Gazlowe: Sounds good to me! When do we leave?
Thrall: THEN...you will take me wherever I wish to go.
Gazlowe: Oh...All right...If you get the plans from the gnomes, I have to fly you wherever you want to go? Okay. But here, you'll need these. These are fake plans, designed to throw the gnomes off track. Substitute these for the real plans without them noticing. But be careful! They're crafty little buggers!
Thrall: Yeah, yeah. You'd better be here when I get back!
Gazlowe: Oh, I'll be here. I'll be here. Probably still workin' on this damn machine.
Thrall then comments about how Gnomes are nothing compared to Goblins architecture.
Thrall: Gnomish inventions couldn't be any worse than this wreck!
Gazlowe: Oh yes they could! Don't you realize that those idiots pedal their Flyers? Ludicrous!
Thrall: And how do Zeppelins fly?
Gazlowe: Hmph...Just goes to show how much you know about dynamics. By using a bag of hot air, of course!
Thrall: What a surprise!
When after you steal the plans, Gazlowe's Zeppelin is finished repaired.
Gazlowe: I knew I'd get this old heap runnin'! Did you find those Gnomish plans for me?
Thrall: Yep, here.
Gazlowe looks through the plans.
Gazlowe: Oh, no. This is bad. This is worse than we realized. This design is brilliant! The Homing Chicken could easily tip the balance of our war in the gnomes' favor...Wait a second. Don't they know that chickens are notorious for being disloyal? Their design can never work! Hah! The gnomes undone by the treachery of their own chickens!
Thrall: Hey look, I don't know anything about chickens! Now what about my ride?
Thrall tells Gazlowe to take him somewhere.
Thrall: Can you take me somewhere?
Gazlowe: Well...Where do you wanna' go?
Thrall: I can't think of anywhere to go right now.
Gazlowe: Let me know when you do.
One of Thrall's decisions was this.
Thrall: Actually, that thing doesn't look very safe.
Gazlowe: You could always walk...
Thrall had no choice but to go somewhere rather than where he was at. So he took out a wanted poster of Grom Hellscream.
Thrall: I need you to take me to Grom Hellscream.
Thrall gives the poster to Gazlowe.
Gazlowe: "Rebellion...Reward?" This orc is trouble. BIG TROUBLE...uh...I don't know anything about it!
Thrall: I'll worry about the risks, you just get me there. Remember, you owe me.
Gazlowe: All right then, hop in! But if things get dicey, my green goblin butt is outta' there.
They reach far to the north called Frostwolf Settlement.
Gazlowe shivers and goes back up.
Gazlowe: This is close enough for me. The zeppelin should be safe here for awhile. I'll wait for you.
When Thrall becomes part of his kind, Gazlowe waits for him outside the Hut.
Gazlowe: Well, listen, I hear you're going to be the Big Axe with the orcs. I figure maybe door-to-door service isn't too much to ask. Your Zeppelin awaits.

Locations Needed?

Is the Location section even necessary? I'm not sure it is adding value. At minimum should the level and health ranges be removed? Rarumas (talk) 19:43, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
