Maybe he is a reference to Pink Floyd's song "Arnold Layne"? --N'Nanz 14:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree, it does seem like this is a reference to Arnold Layne. That was my first impression upon seeing him. --Sipefree 23:52, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Snows of Kilimanjaro

I'm new to editing but I felt that sole tribute could not go to pink floyd for Harold Lane. Harry is the name of the protagonist in "Snows of Kilimanjaro" by Ernest Hemingway and pricks himself on a thorn and dies a slow death. This was the first thing that I thought of when I saw him and not pink floyd.Mrmckaye (talk) 18:12, 2 January 2009 (UTC)mrmckaye

Ya, Harold Lane's name is a slightly altered version of Harry's. Harry (Harold) Street (Lane). Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 18:14, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Cool, unless there is any disagreement, I would like to change the reference to state that the character is based on Harry Street, with possible inspiration for the actual name coming from pink floyd's Arnold Layne. I just feel that it is wrong to credit Pink Floyd with no mention to Hemingway. Mrmckaye (talk) 19:03, 2 January 2009 (UTC)mrmckaye

I have no disagreements. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 19:06, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
