Creature or animated object?

Hello as far I can see it is an object which has been animated or even just had magic infused in it which made it fly around. Why is it considering as creature?.(Yuvalal (talk) 12:50, 7 May 2020 (UTC))

the creatures template is based primarily on gameplay. the inclusion of animated objects isn’t meant to imply that they’re sapient or alive; they’re included because most animated objects, such as these books, function as NPC’s or mobs.

i do question the fact that animated objects are listed as mechanical though. as far as i’m aware, animated objects tend to be classified as either elemental or uncategorized—usually the latter. but maybe that’s more of a conversation for the template’s talk page —Eithris (talk) 20:13, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
