Validity

Can anyone verify that Dragon Isles and that snail looking thing is the same location? Because the file name of the image clearly states "Nazjatar render" --Voidvector 11:52, 29 December 2006 (EST)

Ok, I just got myself a copy of The Art of World of Warcraft. The page with the sea creature concept art does not have a name.[1] In addition, the untextured model that is currently part of WoW is part of Designer Island, so it does not have a name either. I wonder where the original author got "Dragon Isles" from. --Voidvector 00:58, 31 December 2006 (EST)
The concept art is located in the game's MPQ files as it is used in the original WoW credits. "Dragon Isles" is part of the image's file name. Unfortunately with the way they've rearranged the MPQ files lately I can't find where they've moved the image to so I don't exactly have any proof. --ArrantPrac 03:53, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Alternate Interpretation

Here's an idea, what if "Dragon Isles" doesn't refer to an island with dragons on it, but instead refers to a dragon the size of an island? The pictured beast with the palace is more like a nautilus or kraken, (maybe a result of Naga magic on dragons?) but it's an idea. Cryptomancer 21:23, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

The giant sea fossil is most likely the remains of an old god or servant of the old gods with a naga palace built on top of it perhaps the naga remade the palace of azshara after it sank to the sea floor in the sundering?--Vrall 02:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

In World Of Warcraft?

I was installing "World of warcraft" (Classic). Suddenly, in the installing progress bar a file called "Dragon Isles" was Installing... I searched with WOW MODEL VIEWER", "WOW MAP VIEWER" and lots of programs this file...But i can´t found something else...

Is this island in World Of Warcraft? Nobody Knows... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Inico26247 (talk · contr).

I doubt that it is the Dragon Isles. That is a small island that is there in the game.--SWM2448 00:43, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Agreed, but why are you talking about that island? is it mentioned in the article?
EDIT: Nevermind, I checked the talk page before checking the history. Xporc (talk) 08:03, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Move

Anyone is okay with me moving this page to "Dragon Isles (original)" and copy paste the new info into the "Dragon Isles" redirect that will be left. Just to leave both pages (the original DI and the new DI) separated. This way the original DI will have the history of all these years and this talk page. Links are already properly separated. As of now it's a little out of place at the bottom of the page. --Ryon21 Ryon21 Signature Image.png (talk) 18:21, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

I generally think it's fine as it is. I'm not opposed to a separate page either though. PeterWind (talk) 20:20, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
Np. People prefer to leave it in this page so that's okay. I don't have strong feelings if either way is chosen. --Ryon21 Ryon21 Signature Image.png (talk) 01:22, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

The Western Islands

Can you go to the islands west of Ohn'ahran Plains? FenneKindleFire (talk) 03:13, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Yes. PeterWind (talk) 03:35, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Broodlands

are we sure the "broodlands" name was meant to apply to the dragon isles as a whole? when i did the quest i had assumed veritistrasz meant the waking shores specifically, since that's what he and the player are looking at while he talks. Eithris (talk) 23:24, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
