Shadowprey Guardian

Mobs killable for Darnassus Reputation are:

  • Shadowprey Guardian; Limit: Honored 6000/12000

I tried this with my hunter, Honored 1033/12000. I killed several Shadowprey Guardians, but no I got no Darnassus rep.

after reading other sites it looks like that was the fact in some early release, but patched out long ago. it would be very odd, because the trolls in desolace are not involved id any conflict with darnassus or other alliance groups. --Hurax 09:00, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

More pictures

Guys, Darnassus is one of the most beautiful capitals in the game as of now. We need to take more pictures to show that to the outside world.IconSmall BloodElf Male.gifAPΘLLΘ(ZEUS) 08:58, 29 December 2006 (EST)

I can transfer some of the pics from the subzones to the main article. That should brighten things up a bit. --Varghedin 15:21, 29 December (CET)

Only place horde can learn to use bows?

Is it worth noting in the main Darnassus page that this is the only location for a Horde player to acquire the skill of using Bows? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jbuberel (talk · contr).

See Weapon master for info on how to aquire weapon skills. Also, sign your posts with ~~~~. --OseTalkz / Contribz 15:58, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Horde can go into Darnassus and train for bows?  Rolandius Wc3Knight.gif (talk - contr) 09:22, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Harbor?

I read that Darnassus has a harbor?  Rolandius Wc3Knight.gif (talk - contr) 09:23, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Rut'theran Village. g0urra[T҂C] 09:29, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay.LOL I thought Rut'theran Village was as much a part of Darnassus as Goldshire is to Stormwind.  Rolandius Wc3Knight.gif (talk - contr)

Anvil

I noticed today that this city lack anvils. I ran around for 10 minutes trying to find one without luck. I found a forge but no anvil was present. If someone can tell me where to find one i'd be glad to know, else it might be a good note perhaps. --Kanaxai | | Talk 00:49, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Why no people?

On all of the servers I've played (Oceanic, PvE) there is almost never people in Darnassus, they all prefer to hang out in Stormwind. I can't help but wonder why this is, as Darnassus is quite simply beautiful... --Xaerun (talk) 11:26, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

You need to come to Darnassus in Defias Brotherhood EU (RPpvp) then. Perhaps not Stormwind levels of population, it's being used, and people are fairly open for contact. RP there is very good.

--Oponyxal (talk) 14:08, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Because of the location, You go to darnassuswhen you need, it's far from everything. Stormwind and Ironforge are instead on the midle of the map, making conection between important lvling zones making them great places to go when you need anything and for that same reason, to easyer to find people Azahel (talk) 22:34, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Safety

Despite what may happen on some servers, is fact, no one will rely on npcs to defend the town, but at the first sign of horde on teldrassil will summon a lot of players to darnassus, all players on the city will run to the portal which will bring players on diferent times and make the group role more dificult. Outdated??

Darnassus is in the category 'Outdated'. I have no idea why Darnassus should be outdated. It still exists... (Luxor (talk) 15:21, 5 January 2011 (UTC))

Outdated articles doesn't mean removed content. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 08:12, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Guess the lack of new NPC and all the changes wrought by the Cataclysm as well as Beta info that was changed or didn't make it to Live servers is not updated, that's why IconSmall BloodElf2 Male.gif Encaitar (DiscussionDeeds) 15:30, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Architecture influences

<quote> Notes
The architecture of the night elves, according to an interview with Chris Metzen, draws its influences
from both Nordic and Japanese building style. This is most obviously apparent in Darnassus,
which includes several tower buildings in the style of the pagoda at Yakushi-ji (薬師寺), located in Nara, Japan.
<Quote>

Ehhm, nordic lol? I rly think he said wrong, maybe trolled or something like that, because it clearly got Japanese & Ancient Greek/Roman architecture.

the NE cottage appearance seem to be european mideval inspired, with som japanese/korean touch. --Aquril (talk) 17:01, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

It has Nordic and Japanese influence. Search in Google for images of "nordic churches". You'll see the similarities. And Metzen clearly didn't count the Temple of the Moon nor the Temples Gardens (which are Greco-Roman, as you said). --Cemotucu (talk) 21:12, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Illidan book

The ozone scent in the Outland air brought back the memory of her first encounter with an infernal. She recalled the stench of the near-mindless thing as vividly as the night blossoms blooming amid the pavilions of Darnassus.

When reading it I got the impression that the stench was compared to flowers in (present) Darnassus and not that Maiev battled the demon in Darnassus of the past. Not that any of those make sense. --Mordecay (talk) 09:42, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Yes, from that quote it seems pretty clear to me that she is just comparing how vividly she remembers two different things, not that those two things occured at the same time. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 09:50, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Yeah gonna agree with DeludedTroll on this one. PeterWind (talk) 12:05, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Yet, she shouldn't have known Darnassus at the time, unless there was already a city before the planting of Teldrassil.Unholy Cemotucu (talk contribs) 12:37, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
On second thought, if that's correct and the city existed before the Third War, then the term Darnassian would make more sense. --Mordecay (talk) 19:41, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
