Article merge and name

- The content has changed considerably since I added that banner, so that we now have:
- Horde, on the main, Thrall-led, shamanistic Horde,
- History of the Horde, on the pre-Thrall Horde, and
- Dark Horde, on Rend Blackhand's Horde.
- The latter two articles are quite clearly distinct now, and I don't think it makes sense to merge them. I would support renaming them, though, since both article names sound like official terms, but are not. I would suggest Horde (pre-Thrall) and Horde (Rend Blackhand), with a Horde (disambiguation) linked from the top of all three articles.--Aeleas 00:45, 26 November 2006 (EST)
I'm pretty sure the term "Dark Horde" is used in one of the rpg books, but I'll look into that later to make sure.Baggins 01:52, 26 November 2006 (EST)
Alright, no refrence to a so called "Dark Horde", however there is a refrence in WoWRPG core rulebook to essentially two types of horde, those under Thrall, and another leady by warlocks that want to lead the main horde back to the way it was. - Ah ha! Found it! Troll Compendium/Forest Troll Tribes In the official troll compendium on the World of Warcraft site, they state specifically that "the Dark Horde (is) a renegade group of orcs, trolls, and ogres who dwell in Blackrock Spire. Commanded by Rend Blackhand..." So "Dark Horde" is an official term. No need for Horde (Rend Blackhand). --Mikaka 23:09, 11 December 2006 (EST)

Forsaken allies
It appears that the forsaken have helped them at times according to the RPG, much like how Forsaken are allied with the Grimtotem tribe.Baggins 09:17, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
On the note of other allies, after reviewing various ogre tribes that appear in the rpg, specifically the Firegut, Stonegullet, and Torchbeltcher clans, Firegut being directly mentioned as allied with the Blackrock orcs, Stonegullet with the blackdragon flgiht, and Torchbeltcher with the Dragonmaw clan, I believe they should be included.Tweak the Whacked 14:06, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Defeated?
Is the Dark Horde dead now that Rend Blackhand and Nerfian are deceased? I mean is blizzard gonna use the Dark Horde again in an expanison or is the Dark Horde dead right now?--

But I mean, if Thrall shouts out to everyone in Orgrimmar thats hes been killed and has his head mounted on his throne doesnt that conclude hes dead? Either that or hes in hiding, but that would seem unlikely since the Nerfarin would call Rend to help him in the fight in Blackwing Lair. I'm basically saying that are they defeated or not because they are being very quiet and unactive.--Maelstrong 02:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- Although I agree with you, there are many guys who don't believe that this types of quest (when you defeat the boss in the quest) counts as lore. Also you may want to know an interesting fact, according to the World of Warcraft (Wildstorm comic) (set concurrently with the Burning Crusade) it is told that the Dark Horde is still a problem in the Eastern Kingdoms, meaning that, at least, in the Burning Crusade they are still alive. However Onyxia was killed by Varian at the time of the Burning Crusade, so Rend and Nefarian may have also died before Wrath of the Lich King. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 02:50, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Affiliation with the burning legion?
This has been bugging me is the Dark Horde still allied with the burning legion or did it die off in warcraft 3 reign of chaos? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zelaroth (talk · contr).

Ettin
The Gnolls of Redridge enslaved ettin to do their bidding. But their numbers are very few and they are slaves so is that large enough to consider them a race?
