If mice could swim they would float with the tide and play with the kittens downstream

(Ok, so I suck at titles. :-p) According to Fubar's plugin Speedfu, I'm actually moving at 101% speed in swim form. This plugin is accurate with other forms and mounts, showing me running in caster form at 100%, in cat form outside at 130% with [Feral Swiftness], 200% with an epic ground mount, etc. --Azaram (talk) 01:22, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

When you get into water, your move speed is decreased by 50%. When shifted into Aquatic Form, your movement speed is increased by 50%, bringing it back up to 100%. The extra 1 percent is coming from an inaccuracy from either Blizzard or Fubar's Plugin (likely the latter), but is negligible anyway. --Mesethusela (talk) 17:26, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Using items while shapeshifted

With patch... 2.3 I believe, possibly 2.4.something, it was changed so that druids may use items while shapeshifted. So now we can eat, drink, use health, mana, and rage potions, quest items, and talk to NPCs, while in cat, bear, and bird forms. I have however not actually tested if it applies to aquatic form as well, and the patch notes were never specific about that. I know that you can pick flowers without going out of the swim form, though I don't remember if that was always the case or not. I am not entirely sure how to test this either, as my druid is now level 80, and have completed most all quests that involve some kind of swimming. But I wanted to kick this in, because I am 95% certain that it is now possible to use all kinds of objects while in the aquatic form, just like you can in all the other forms (being able to open chests while in cat form is a blessing, and although eating as a bear looks strange, it is very practical in instances). --Metalbunny (talk) 11:14, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Pretty sure you can't eat or drink while swimming at all, druid or not. (You'd spend a hell of a long time trying to drink underwater. :P ) They don't put any treasure chests in the sunken ships, so there's not much you can try; I do know that the vase and hawk statue you have to recover from Clam Master K, you can pick up while in the sabretooth sea lion form. --Azaram (talk) 12:34, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL. Yeah, eating and drinking aside, I was thinking more in the lines of potions and opening stuff... but there's not a lot of things underwater that can be opened/used without the quest that goes with it. I'll find something, I will. LOL. --Metalbunny (talk) 17:22, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

That seal sure is hideous, though 0.0 Wonder if they'll give it an overhaul one day. DacianWarlord (talk) 22:29, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

On one of the interviews on MMO-Champion, Ghostcrawler said that they're looking at changing the other forms too, although no sort of time sense. --Azaram (talk) 04:01, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Agreed, this form is real ugly. I almost prefer to use travel form, since its 40% speed is almost as good as Aquatic's 50%. Then again, there is the water breathing. But sea lions can't breathe underwater anyway; they're mammals. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mathwhiz90601 (talk · contr).
Don't think you get the speed bonus with travel form in water... you lose the speed of a mount and move at normal swim speed (aside from, of course, the Sea Turtle mount). --Azaram (talk) 02:08, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

Abilities

Not to get too needy, but wouldn't it be a little but beneficial if the aquatic form had an ability or two? It's almost defenseless, and outrunning something isn't always the best idea. Maybe a dash ability used underwater, and an attack of some sort. It'd be almost useless for practical uses, but the form isn't practical; It's for adventuring and travelling. --Strof (talk) 01:38, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

That's great and all, but gameplay suggestions don't really belong here; WoWWiki isn't affiliated with Blizzard and has no influence on the game's design. You should probably take this sort of thing to their official forums. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:41, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
