is it certain that he was killed in the battle of Mount Hyjal? Azgalor survived. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Lightscream (talk · contr).

The fact is that Blizzard didn't tell anything about the issues of Mt Hyjal's battle. And the campaign is so short that I couldn't remember anything of the History of the World of Warcraft before playing it K). I am desperately waiting for some more information. <Kirochi>

Well, the real question is, "what source said Azgalor is still alive?" Also, Blizzard appears carfeul about which demons they bring back- and their absolute favorite plot twist is to have the most dangerous being the ones that are never seen (Kil'jaeden's power far exceeds all demons who have actually fought in WarCraft). Blizzard may have decided that Azgalor should still be alive to avoid creating new Pit Lords, or to give him a vendetta. in the case of this last bit, they're more likely to have Azgalor be aided by Mephistroth, who has no personal connection with Azeroth. -Ragestorm

what is to say kil'jaedaen is more powerful than Archimonde, they were both on the equal. kil simply did things behind the scenes. and sargeras, while never in the games, FAR outpowers kil'jaeden. if he is still alive in any way, which i can almost guatantee, he should still be way stronger. why hes not commanding the legion, or if he is, why we dont know about it, well have to wait and see.--Haddon 17:29, 20 August 2006 (EDT)

I'm not going to say that Kil'jaeden's power far exceeds Archimondes, but it does exceed it. Shadow and light proves it, as does rise of the horde and the fact that Kil'jaeden was second in command. -gamerxl, April 9, 2007

I'm a little confused by all the pronouns used in this last paragraph:

"He was put in charge of the demonic base camp when Lord Archimonde ascended to crush the World Tree. However, Anetheron was killed during the battle. He was not aware of his master's death, and the sapping of his demonic powers until too late, and he along with most of the Legion were slaughtered by Night Elves and their allies before they could escape."

Need some clarification on the he's and his's EmeraldElement 03:14, 3 June 2006 (EDT)

Appearance in Caverns of Time instance?

Players will be traveling back in time to the Battle of Mount Hyjal and will clearly have to face off against a boss, but it won't be anybody as important as Archimonde. I wonder if we will get to fight Anetheron and/or Winterchill in that part of the instance.--Illidan Rocks 19:17, 11 September 2006 (EDT)

Delayed post, but I call Anetheron and Winterchill as killable, Azgalor retreating at X percent, and fighting off Archimonde for X period of time. --Adonzo 22:31, 26 January 2007 (EST)
There will be probably killable Rage Winterchill in Human's base, killable Anetheron in Orcs' base and Archimonde and Azgalor in the Night Elven base, with the former being unreachable, and the latter being "fightable" until the moment he reaches some % HP treshold, when we are given the cutscene where Archimonde reaches the summit of Mount Hyjal. I assume that, because the history tells that the Archimonde did reach the mount and razed the humans' and orcs' bases (although in W3 I never allowed Archimonde to go past orcs' base, so I don't know what happends in Night Elves base except for the cutscene when he goes through the gate). Because Azgalor is the one who survives, he will probably the last one to be dealt with. Winterchill and Anetheron (order doesn't matter here) will be then before him, probably with the main assault teams when they'll be razing the bases, when players are to fall back with Tyrande and Malfurion, and probably Jaina, and later with Thrall (don't remember if Cairne was present there as well) to the next base.
I just found out that this post should be posted in Battle of Mount Hyjal talk page, but I'll leave it here.

A factual mistake with a misunderstood reference?

"Anetheron was second only to Tichondrius himself"
The proof link does not mention that. It's probably just speculation. I suggest correcting the wording in the intro and adding the current speculation to the speculation or trivia section, see: Mephistroth#Speculation.--Adûnâi (talk) 12:52, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

I was thinking the same thing. This is probably assumed because Anetheron appears after Tichondrius dies. But fighting on the frontlines, which dreadlords rarely do, could've meant he was below Mephistroth, or maybe he just worked more closely with Archimonde like the talk with the three of them implied. --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 15:08, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Adunai, u saying that Anetheron wasn't probably second only to Tichondrius (I agree that it should go to speculations) but in Mephistroth's speculation you replaced Tichondrius with Anetheron? Should it be Tichondrius? --Mordecay (talk) 15:27, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
